Dan Dvorak's shop in Waldo, FL is for sale

That’s probably a real bargain. There’s almost 8 acres I think. The property alone is worth a lot probably.

Anyone else going through trailer tires this summer?

I think the older Carlisle tires were made in the US. I had a Texas rollback with those too. But it was from the 90’s. Most are China now. I believe the only US made trailer tires are Goodyear Endurance. That is what I use and have had ok luck with. Discount Tire | Tires and Wheels for Sale |...

    1965 Valiant LS Build

Very nice. This will turn out nice. 6.0 is LS by the way. Very durable and shows up in numerous jeeps and off road vehicles. True hot rodder. Plenty of LS engines show up in mustangs at the drag strip. I retired from GM Powertrain and I can tell you most of these LS engines are very durable...

Could BOTH my horns be bad?

Good advice. I’m looking at them right now. Also looks like the 3 is a little more simple than the 4 model. More useful than just using a dvom

Counterfeit Carter M6866 mechanical fuel pumps being sold on Amazon. Buyer beware!

Yes. Same as mine. That’s for 72. But the odd year 71 with a thermoquad air metered vs 72 and after, so called solid fuel, has the other setup with the filter up by the carb. So when they changed the carb design from 71 to 72 I guess someone figured out the solid hard line from pump to...

Counterfeit Carter M6866 mechanical fuel pumps being sold on Amazon. Buyer beware!

The odd thing is, I have looked at 71 models and they have the filter after the pump but it’s fastened into a short rubber hose with the same clamps right next to the carb. Definitely easier to create a leak in the top of the engine. Im not sure when that changed but mine is as you mentioned...

Counterfeit Carter M6866 mechanical fuel pumps being sold on Amazon. Buyer beware!

No, not at all. That’s the exact factory setup. In fact there is a threaded hard line between the pump outlet and carb inlet. Parts book shows some generic diagram but that’s not for this one. In fact, as mentioned,I bought this car new, have owned this car for 51 plus years. Often a small...

340 -727 -3000 stall- Vibration under load - Trying to find source

Bill, not sure if you have a 72, but FYI. Just in case anyone doesn’t have a copy of this bulletin: lots of problems with mismatched parts as these vehicles age. Note the balance weights on the cast crank torque Convt. used at the end of the 1972 model year. Note the different damper.

Counterfeit Carter M6866 mechanical fuel pumps being sold on Amazon. Buyer beware!

Well here’s a real good picture of the original fuel pump I just took off of my 1972 340 Duster. I bought the car new off the dealership lot with zero miles. It had an Airtex pump which I believe is listed in the service manual (not parts book) along with the Carter. It apparently was dual...

    Internally Balance Cast Crank?

I rarely post anything on this site, but for anyone looking for the cutoff date for 340 forged vs cast crankshaft, it is in this TSB. Most of the 1972 model year had forged crankshafts as described in this bulletin up to April 11,1972. The engines from April 11 thru probably July 1972 had cast...
