4 speed slant 6 factory rear end. I dont think its the gasket and I believe it may be the seal where the driveshaft inputs. Can someone chime in and give me some information on what to do to replace that along with a parts source. Thanks All

yea i knocked out some of that rust, checked underneath and it was structurally sound. most of the car’s worst is like that. I dont plan to mess with it lest it becomes a problem.

Update: I removed the old stuff. waiting on weatherstrip part and glue. what do you guys suggest to recoat the exposed metal with? I am thinking of just taping it off and hitting it with some rattle can primer & a color off the shelf that matches as close as possible.. that hammer and flat bar...

Looking for guidance on what weather seal to replace this with. Its ok if it is not the authentic part. I am focused on Function and Cost. Please chime in on any tips and tricks to removing the old stuff without removing the paint etc and the install process. Thanks all.

I thought it might be an AC component considering that hardline ran towards the front in front of the radiator and went to nothing. I'm removing it now should I hang on to it or toss it? a quick google search has them new ranging from 15$ to 90$ . I won't have a use for it thats for sure.
