Went over this a while back here: SSBC replacement parts and there is a link to a lot of good info I received over at moparts linked in there as well. Dayclona over at Moparts said this...

Wow, what a clean example! I hope it gets restored and not turned in to a hot rod.

    Cleaning old aluminum slotted wheels

I have always used Mothers Chrome Polish with some steel wool. Made the aluminum slots look sort of machined finish but if you keep going can be brought to a high polish.

    Headlight Relay Kits

Interesting. Is that a 4 headlight separated high and low beam assemblies or a 2 headlight hi/lo combo?

    318/8 Speed Swap

I'm eagerly awaiting your progress! Just looked at JVX's website and couldn't find the LA to 8sp adapters. Could you tell me what's the part number on that flex plate and any other details about it specifically?

Rear valance dual exhaust mod on a /6 car

You don't have to swap out or mod the stock valance. You can just mount the tips below it.

    Can this mirror be refurbished?

That's what I plan on doing. Too costly to restore for a nothing special daily driver and repops aren't cheap either.

Carb Cheater - What Say Yee?

It appears he has put out a vid addressing some of the critiques and concerns people have about his carb cheater. I think he has some valid points.

For Those Who've Swapped RV2 For Sanden Compressors...

Look around where you live RRR. You might be able to find a shop the will make any A/C hose you need locally. Even in hot rod hell Tucson we have a shop that does that and they have been lifesavers at times when swapping in parts that weren't OEM.

    ThunderHead289 carbcheater

It's basically a controlled air bleed. So, your carb would need to be set up rich and his system would autocorrect for this rich condition by adding the correct amount of air. At least that's how I understand it.

Is there any value to these old parts other than scrap value ???

The one thing I'll state is don't scrap any of it. It's better to give it away than lose a part that will never be made again and could potentially be used by someone. Trying to find someone to purchse the whole lot is a lot tougher to find than individual buyers that can actually use a...

    /6 to 340 swap

I've smoked three stock 904's all behind either stock or very mild 318's. First two were back in the 80's, I'm pretty sure they were all original, and the last one was rebuilt professionally and crapped the bed right after the warranty ran out. Since then it has only been 727's for me. Never...

NOT MINE: Chrysler 300 in Central Missouri

Ah, I love those cars. That could be a really sweet cruiser. As to you guys talking about dropping a Gen III in a boat, I plan to do that very thing in my '65 Sport Fury along with a matching 8 speed auto. I want to be able to drive that car across the country if I wish.

David Vizard bench flows a BBD 2bbl

LOL, no, not you! There are just some here that hate UTG with a passion and I believe they let their "feels" get in the way sometimes.
  25. Furious65

David Vizard bench flows a BBD 2bbl

Mmm, I think that was their assumption and they mislead themselves. UTG, DV, and Andy are pretty much using stock parts yet they are modified and will be extensively so on some of them. Most anyone that thought you could "tune/tweak/recurve/jet/ to get the 300" out of a 318 with a BBD carb and...

David Vizard bench flows a BBD 2bbl

Like someone else has mentioned above, they never claimed it was going to be a budget build. Having someone do what they plan to do to any size or brand of engine won't be cheap. I think the idea is to show how to maximize what you are working with which in this case is a BBD fed 318. Exactly...

David Vizard bench flows a BBD 2bbl

They already said that is exactly what they plan to do. So, we will get to see that difference. Personally, I think this is the most interesting build going on at the moment that I've heard of. Seems it is mainly all about the small details and not the big dollar parts most throw at a build...

    Headers vs 340 manifolds

I was only considering the Hedman 78500 vs the Dougs D453. Those generic block huggers just aren't worth the hassle even if you could get them to fit. Eh, all that matters to me is that it works and I have great ground clearance. Honestly I think I can do the Hedman shorties considerably...

    Overdrive transmission

I got lucky and found a core locally for $100. Collecting the parts to build it is going to take a while for me as I'll be doing all the work so I can afford to buy the more expensive HD parts throughout.

    Rasp Burr Finish Experiment (Porting)

Interesting. I've not read anything on this finish so totally in the dark about it. Would this possibly even help on a dual plane intake even though you can't reach everywhere?
