Hauling Capacity of the 1971 Dodge Dart

I like running errands every now and then in the old cars. Picking up a few things at Lowes or WalMart makes me think of the 50 year old history my old cars went through yo get where they are today. It is hard to believe they were brand new and used for this purpose on a daily basis. However, I...

Sorry, it is a four door.

NE1 used gas charged struts as trunk support ?

I have never tried, but isn't there a way to tighten the spring by moving one of the bars?

    Can anyone identify this?

The original post sparked my interest. I figured there must be an app for that, so I went looking and found one called Cam Find. You take a picture of something, and it tells you what it is. I doubt it would work for such a random part, but it would be worth the try if I had the part. And no, it...

Same question: was the engine compartment already painted? Black maybe?

    Fly and drive or ship?

I have had three cars sipped to my house New Orleans. None costed much more than $500. The cars came from Oregon, California an N. Carolina. All cars were running well, and that saved money I also did a lot of shopping around, so I may have not have had the best quality shipping, but I did not...

Too nice to use as a parts car? (pic intensive)

You face the same problem I have with buying parts cars: usually the cars that have good parts are too nice to chop up. It is like I am taking one off the road permanently, and it does not seem right. Anyone that wants to put it back on the road would have to find the same parts I took off. I...

A garage! Sorry, I had to say it.

    Stereo deck mounting?

I made a small console. It sits up over the hump. It is big enough for two door speakers on each side and the unit up front. I made it from light weight wood, covered it in fiberglass and painted gloss black. My only mistake was not installing three gauges? It would have taken up the blank space...

    What makes mopar guy different?

When you get into cars like some people, you kinda take on the personality. Ford and Chevy people do not mind being one of many. Mopar people tend to be a little unique. JMO.

Making a car difficult to steal

Maybe someone can tell me this wrong, but I spliced a distributor wire and ran it to a switch under my seat. Even if I tell someone where it is, they take a while to find it. My only reluctance is when I think about reaching under the seat while the car is running.

    15 ' trim rings $8,499.00

I have never understood why someone would have a "best offer" auction. It seems to me that someone would be more likely to get caught up in a regular auction and maybe bid a little more than intended. I know there has to be another opinion. Anyone want to share?

    Electronic car keys

Just getting back. Workweek from hell. Anyway, let me reiterate, it is the spare key. The primary key works fine. But if someone else wants to drive the car, it jus ain't so easy. The electronic part of the key works to start the car, but it will not open the door. The manual key worked fine...

    Electronic car keys

2008 Chrysler 300. My son's spare electronic key will not work even with a new battery. I even tightened possible loose connections with solder. Anyway, it has been just as easy to use the little manual key that is inside the big key.....until now. The manual key will no longer turn in the...

Well, with our government's record of quality and efficiency, we will surely do better with Obamacare. I particularly like the part where it will be free.

    Left thread studs

I have had one of those dial calipers in my hands at Horrible Freight and just could not think of a reason to have one. Looks like the reason would have been to save me a trip back to get one. :)

I forgot about the difference in front an back. But they are 10 inch drums in the rear if anyone wants to part with them. Trade or cash!

    Left thread studs

After researching the left thread studs and lug nuts issue, I can only imagine this is a sore subject for many of you. I wonder how many of us made the switch to RH thread and how many made the switch reluctantly. You can count me in as one of those that cannot convert, and I am not even one of...

    70-72 Air conditioning

LOL! Thx. But can you get close enough to see the brackets? I believe if you would have stepped one step closer and shot the pic down just a bit, it would have probably been perfect. Thx again.

    '69 Satellite PARTS CAR BS!

I believe it was a Speed Channel show, but I once saw them take a four door and make it into a two door (NOVA or Impala???). Why is that so hard? This comes from someone who doesn't weld, so I am totally clueless.

    '69 Satellite PARTS CAR BS!

My guesses: 1. He is using it as a platform to sell parts. What is to say he doesn't have a garage full of parts that he is selling. How would you ever know they were coming from that particular car. 2. Since the picture was taken, it has been wrecked. Would it really be worth more...

    Yall know where this goes?

Approximately 3" wheel. The holes are on bracket to right (circled red and almost appear to not be connected in picture). It is not a tensioner because it has no freedom of movement. It just spins. Thanks a lot for your help. My next step was the dealer tomorrow, and I wasn't holding out a...

Putting 69 engine back together and for the life of me I cannot figure out where this bracket goes. Uggggggggg! I posted this under P/S Brackets but did not get much help. I ususally take pics, but my son jammed my memory card into my camera and bent the pins. Anyone want to fix that for me? LOL!
