    Fuel Mileage facts

my 69 valiant is getting 20 MPG and i drive it hard. its driven 135 miles a day for commuting to work, and ive not done anything to it. ive not even tuned the motor or gone through the carb. if i drove it sanely, and gave it a good tune up, i bet it would get 22 MPG.

How was it in the 60s-80s?

i drive my 69 every day, and im putting on 140 miles a day, and getting 20 miles per gallon. The real problem is not the cars, its the new replacement parts. at least with these cars you can know what is prone to go out, and if you pay attention to how the car feels and sounds, you know when...

i need to add to this again. as one of the post said, he "didnt want to wind people up" but the way i see it, is this is good reading and it gives people a chance to see other peoples opinion. Bad "New" parts frustration.

Its not just one store, they all have to get the parts where they can. i tend to pay more for parts from napa when its a tricky part, because theres nothing worse then getting a young kid at autozone or O'Reilly helping me and you tell them what you need and they have no idea what it is or goes...

Best Reason to Hot Rod Mopar Instead of Restore...

I think the key here is the fact there spending that money on a car there going to sell and make a profit. its not a car they plan on keeping. they could care less about the car, because to them its just money. there not like most here that cringe when we see a car in a field rotting away...

    barn find, survivor, whatever.

all good definitions for sure. i guess what is bothering me is the fact that what started out as a good thing was overused for the wrong reasons. Its kinna nice my valiants would be called survivers, yet there are still a few out there in all original paint and un-modified condition.
