Update: Took dist apart found the advance is free with two light springs . The vac advance is an 8.5 . The reluctor plate was a little dirty underneath it . Regapped reluctor , put it back in car got 20 deg initial with no bounce and max of 25 at 2000 with no bounce in timing which seems low ...

i'm running MP dist , msd . after another timing i still get some bounce in timing at 2000 rpm , will have to check dampner later. i have checked tdc and i'm good there.

yes , total of 40 deg of advance at 2000 rpm with no bounce in timing , at 1000 rpm(idle) 30 deg timing bonces :wack:

i have several options of carbs just looking to see if what i have would work for me or anyone else. i just got a dual plane intake that is a spread bore intake to replace my torker II intake.

do you have your heater core hooked up in the cooling system? if so i believe that would be a sort of bypass letting coolant flow through the intake. IMO

can i run without the bypass completely on a street driven motor without having overheating issues.with a stock water pump pluged off. like this

is this carb worth messing with it came off a 440 in a motor home and it is a spreadbore. was told it was a 750 but i believe by the numbers it is a 650

picked up a weiand 8007 dual plane and a holley 600 off craigslist for $150 . was told it was a 750 holley was more interested in the intake . only one thing concerns me is the non exsisting bypass fitting. has anyone ever had one like this and can it be fitted with one.

i also have a 484-284 purple cam i could put in the 340. would that be a better cam to run with the torker and 750 holley, even though i have 3.21/2200.

do i have these mounts on the block correct? i dont think they are. mocking up motor and tranny to get a drive shaft cut. everything seems a little close to the fire wall.

those look like truck mounts. to tall for an a body. you need something like these.
