    65, 66 Formula S

Sorry, I should've re-read my earlier post. I was in a hurry because the family was waiting to drag me out the door...#-o

    65, 66 Formula S

When I said no Formula S in '64, I meant for the '64 model year. The Formula S package wasn't available until the 1965 model year. The car in the ad is a '65 model. Look at the dash. O:)

    65, 66 Formula S

That's a '65 Barracuda. The dash is different. Also, no Formula S models in '64. Not sure about the introduction date on the '65. Pretty sure the '64 Barracuda was introduced April 1st, 1964. Maybe somebody swapped radiator supports?

    66 Barracuda Headers - Help!

Those don't look like Cyclones at all. The rear tube is shaped wrong and all 4 tubes should turn toward the rear of the car before they form into the collector.

early A s with hood scoops

Here's a pic of Moparlee's car. I have the same scoop on my car but his car looks a lot better than mine.

    8 3/4 rear end swap

I bolted a '71 Demon 8 3/4 rear into my '64 Barracuda. Had to swap parking brake cables and use new U-bolts (told the salvage yard to save them for me but they cut the old ones off with a torch) and the shock plates from the Demon. Also had to shorten the drive shaft 2 1/4". Best that I can...

    Barracuda rear windows

They roll down all of the way. They sort of roll back & down, in a rotating kind of motion.

    drop center link?

I hope he got it figured out, since this thread is ALMOST 5 YEARS OLD. :toothy10: Then again, if he works like me, he might not need the center link yet. disgust

I think somebody said a while back that the steering coupler kit is still available from the dealer too.

Plymouth Instrument Cluster 1964 vs. 1965

I remember taking my '64 up to where the speedo needle pointed straight down one time. :toothy7: 9" brakes, young & stupid, etc....disgust

    Please help

Does it make a difference whether he has 9" or 10" brakes?

    1972 Scamp disc brakes

If they're factory sbp brakes they should be Kelsey Hayes style & should bolt straight onto your '66. You'll need to swap the lower ball joints to the disc brake style. You need to also swap the spindles & hubs along with the calipers.

    brake drum paint

I think Leanna has brake drums listed on her price list. You'd probably want to be pretty sure of your color choice before you decided to do it, considering the cost to ship heavy items. Maybe brake drums will fit in a flat rate box?

    upper control arm bushings

Put some anti-sieze on the cam bolts to keep them from rusting to the sleeves of the new bushings.

65 Cuda wheels..which way to go?

I'm not sure I'd agree with this. They should fit fine in the back. In the front a 14 x 7" wheel might hit the tie rod ends or the end of the upper control arm but the 15" diameter wheel, because of the larger diameter, should give enough room to squeak by. I ran a 14 x 7" wheel with 4 3/8"...

If you do it & don't like it, it's easy to change.

    upper control arm bushings

I replaced the upper control arm bushings on my car when it was 10 or 11 years old. I had access to a full shop with a press & air tools & it was a PITA! I remember using an air chisel to cut them out. Hope things go better for you. :D

    65 Dart Heater Core replacement

Detroit Muscle Technologies should have all of the gaskets you need for the heater box. Spectra Premium is a good brand as far as gas tanks, probably okay fro heater cores too. Don't know about Everco but I've heard of the company.

Looking for a high Res pic 64 Valian Acapulco or a valiant w/cuda grille

How high do you need the resolution to be? I've got a lot of stuff I've saved on my PC through the years. Don't know if any of it's good enough though.

    hood release

That's definitely a bit different than the '64 Barracuda latch I described.

might be picking up a 65 "parts" valiant for around $175

I could use some parts. Want my list?

    hood release

Don't have a picture. Not sure if the Valiant emblem looked the same in 64 as it did in 65. On my 64 Barracuda you stick your finger into a slot under the front of the emblem on the front of the hood. There is a little lever there that you pull down with your finger. This releases the...

    63-66 Valiants

I think that's an Offenhauser valve cover. Just do a search. Summit might have them. Also might have seen them on eBay. I know they're still available. Nice, but not necessarily cheap. They make a nice set for the small block too.

    64 barracuda 273 engine timing

It's a 64 so if it's stock it's a 2bbl & should be around 8.8 (IIRC) to one or so compression ratio. He might be able to get by with 10 BTDC.
