Fenderwell headers too Close to Master Cylinder Line

That looks like a really good solution there. Especially since the bore is the same as what Mopar used on a lot of their master cylinders.

Fenderwell headers too Close to Master Cylinder Line

Mopar King, Sorry to just now be checking back in. I was headed out to the garage to look for the master cylinder and my wife stopped me & instead I ended up having to take my daughter to the E.R with problems with her diabetes. She's spent 2 days in the I.C.U. & I've only spent a little over...

Fenderwell headers too Close to Master Cylinder Line

I looked at the MC in the link. My wife has a '77 Mustang, but that looks a lot like the MC I have so it might be what they sent me. The one I have is for power brakes so I don't think it has a push rod. Just used whatever was poking out of the booster. I forgot about it having 2 mounting...

Fenderwell headers too Close to Master Cylinder Line

Mopar King, do you have disc or drum brakes on front of your car? Quite a while back I bought a rebuilt master cylinder for my wife's V8 Mustang II. Didn't pay much attention to it when I bought it & I had it a long time and the box was destroyed by the time I went to put it on. Then I found...

    Steel Shim Head Gasket

The main thing I remember from back in the day is that the steel gaskets required the surfaces to be really flat & in really good shape. They worked well on new-from-the-factory builds. I used them when I rebuilt my 273 & had them blow out between the middle two cylinders on both sides...

    Hemi Yes or No

As far as valve adjustment there's no reason I know of that you couldn't go hydraulic. Even the last of the street hemis had hydraulic lifters.

    Oil pans

Not sure how much difference it makes, but in regards to number 2 in the post above...The LA engine doesn't oil the top end through the lifters. It's oiled through passages in the block & heads.

    440 crank in 383 block

I don't know. Sometimes NOT saying you have a stroker could be better. :snakeman: "Honest, it's just a 383!"

    Lucas Response To Zinc Additive

I tried to buy some of that about 2 years ago & they wanted about $16 for it at the dealership. Even the guy behind the counter said he didn't think it was worth that much. I still think it's good stuff though.

    Lucas Response To Zinc Additive

I agree. My father used to work for a guy who thought that "an" & "and" were interchangeable. He corrected this guys letters for a while & finally quit doing it. My brother was an Intelligence Officer in the Army. His CO asked him how to spell acourse. My brother told him that he didn't...

    A Body's with Fenderwell Headers...????

I ran Cyclone fenderwells on my smallblock 64. Used E60 14 tires on 7" rims with around 4" backspacing (I'd have to look into things further to be sure of the wheel info). I had shiny spots on the headers but never heard or noticed them rubbing.

Isn't it neat the stuff Chrysler used to do? You didn't see anything like this from "those other guys."
