***Should I Delete the Trim on 67 Dart***

I'm thinking about the same thing with my 67 GT. I'm getting rid of the upper trim but keeping the wheel well trim, rocker panel trim, etc. In my opinion, the 67 tail lights don't look right without the tail panel or at leat the trunk trime pieces. The upper trim line really changes the look...

    Thieves! They're everywhere!

No kidding. My guess is that it would be the family of the thief suing you because the thief would be toast. I guess those flame throwers were actually marketed in South Africa to deal with high rates of car jacking.

    Rear quarter panel destroyed

Kinda makes ya wish that there were left handed threads on those lug nuts. Another thread gave convincing evidence as to why chrysler used them back in the day ... if finger tightened, lug nuts did not come off with left hand thread on the drivers side.

    Dart Stripe Idea

I like the concept, just seems a little wide IMO.

    6 Pack Scoop Placement

From the pic, it looks like 2-3 inch-ish from the back of the hood to the back of the scoop.

    6 Pack Scoop Placement

This is what I was considering for placement of the hole. Just wondered if anybody had a fiberglass 6 pack hood to confirm the distance from the back of the hood to the back of the scoop.

    6 Pack Scoop Placement

I've got a fiberglass 6 Pack scoop that I'm going to mount to the hood of my Dart. Just wondering if anyone has measurements for where the scoop needs to be mounted on a 67-69 Dart hood.

    Undercoating

As unattractive as some may find undercoating, that is probably helped your car survive all these years. My dart has many of the common rust issues ... but none underneath the car where it was undercoated. Like fishbreath stated, I've heard several people using truck bed liner instead of...

Temporary paintjob on dart swinger - matte grey?

You might be able to roll on Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator - they come in several colors (not sure about the gloss). And it would serve as a primer coat for future work.

    Hood Scoops

I've looked at those but they seem too tall for an a-body IMO. I think they are the same dimensions as the 69 1/2 road runner/super bee scoops at 4.25" tall. The scoops that seem to look right on a-body hoods are 3.25" high.

    Fiberglass Hood

    LOL - not in Montana.

    Fiberglass Hood

Yah, they are spendy. I'd just get a fiberglass scoop for my steel hood but I know about the inevitable cracking problems when fiberglass is bonded to metal. And the bolt-on scoops are 4.25" tall as opposed to 3.25" tall and look out of proportion on a dart IMO.

    Fiberglass Hood

Well, I've finally decided to get a six pack fiberglass hood from AAR. Just wondering if I should get the lift-off or bolt-on version. The lift-off is $100 cheaper, probably is a little lighter with less reinforcement (not sure about this), but will be more awkward to deal with. Anybody...

    Fender Doglegs

The ones I'm looking for are for the front fenders.

    Fender Doglegs

Yup, for a 67, but I think the lower section would be the same for 67 thru the 70s.

    Fender Doglegs

Does anyone know who makes decent patch panels (for rust repair) for the dogleg section of fenders (the part behind the tire)? Do you know if the patch panels have the brace on the back side that attaches to the body, or are they just replacement skins? If the aftermarket stuff is just...

    Pics of your Silver Darts

I'm not a painter or a body man so maybe someone else can jump in as well. The clear itself won't make it feel any more smooth than without clear, but you will be safer when making it smooth afterwards. The advantage of the clear is that if there are any irregularities in the paint (orange...

    Pics of your Silver Darts

I think metallicas in general are more difficult to get an evenly laid down color. If you don't do them just right you can get a blotchy or striped look from unevenness in the metallic particles. That's also why I you shouldn't paint parts (fenders, doors, etc) separately with metallics ...

    Pics of your Silver Darts

I especially like the last one (GTS) with the black roof and stripe. I'm not sure if it is a factory color or not. It seems like it is a bit darker than the chip in my Martin-Senour book.

    Feedback: paintforcars.com

She must work for someone ... and I bet that someone would not be happy with her when he/she discovers how many sales she cost the company. This really needs to come to attention of the boss.

it wasn't easy, but painted bay with motor in.

Any more problems with paint drips by doing it that way? Looks like the way to go if you don't have an engine hoist.

Has anyone attempted to fill in the side trim holes?

I remember someone using a POR 15 floor patch kit on the back side of trim holes, then skimming the front with body filler. Don't know how long this would hold compared to the lead.
