Is that a Ford 8.8? The pinion offset is different then, not the same as the 8 3/4. Center the pinion and then measure each side for sure because it will be different cuts off each end.

It looks pretty good but all the shop needs is the flange to flange dimension unless you plan on centering the rear which it doesn't look like your going for. I would lose the old flange location and only provide the dimensions of what you want. The dimension for each side, passenger side from...

ThanX for the insight. I had everything done out of house and already got it back. I put the new rear in and have peace knowing it was done by someone with experience. Someday I would actually like to learn how to set everything myself.

I'm about to fill up my new 3rd member and I'm wondering what gear oil is better? I usually use 80w/90 but the guy that set up my rear (full spool) said to use a good synthetic or Lucas. I like lucas so I picked up 85/140 wt oil instead of the 80/90. Anyone use the 140 or is this too thick...

Did you do the install yourself with all the measurements and setting the backlash? My spool and gears just arrived today so now they need to find there way into my carrier. I've never done a gear swap and wonder how hard it is to do? Can't find any good directions online as of yet to judge...
