    Color

Matt, the underside was not painted, it was only over-spray. Check this site out for factory markings, practices etc...Although mostly B/E body based, the same practices apply to A bodies. http://www.mmcdetroit.com/Inspection/. This other site is also one of my favorites for research...

Let's be honest here fellows, yes I agree the Alterktion kits are sweet, but you need to know what you are doing, to be able to do it yourself.

    Improper balljoint install?

Unfortunately, I was thinking along the same line. Never seen one, unscrew itself out, the thread are likely trashed in the control arm, maybe the prior balljoint change got pressed in the threads. It's a common mistake. Screw it out to make sure, if the threads are decent, re-install with...

    Front end bushings advice

The OEM rubber lasts many years, I replaced mine a couple years ago, it was almost 40 years old. I was looking for a bit of a stiffer ride myself as these old Mopars weren't built to go around corners that well. The polygraphite kit gave me that, without really compomising on confort. I...

    Front end bushings advice

The polygraphite kits available aren't to costly, worth the extra few $ over rubber kits. I can't think of any special tools required aside from a floor jack, jack stands, socket set /wrenches a pry bar... Are you contemplating doing front and rear?

What Style & Knurl for Disc Brake Wheel Studs?

The knurl diameter will be will be standard to the stud/thread, doesn't make any difference what length stud. Are you re-drilling the holes? Most automotive parts store will have those. But for reference the knurl dia. on a 1/2-20 stud is .620" to .630"

    Polygraphite Question HELP!

PST is good, that's what I got, front and rear. I can't say if the rubber is better then Poly or vise versa for daily driving. All I can say is that the factory OEM rubber lasted some 30 years, and 70k's and it was beat. How long will the poly last ? I'm now where near any of those milestones?

    Polygraphite Question HELP!

The lube comes with the kit. And yes it will stand up to daily driving, more then the OEM rubber did.

    Polygraphite Question HELP!

The polygraphite will be the less "squeeky" then the polyurethane, but use plenty of lube when installing. The polyurethane kit is a bit "stiffer" also. I'd go with the polygraphite kit.

    Hood and fender shake

I don't know of any other company that makes a 245/60/14 other than Goodrich. Hopefully there are other manufacturers out there. Otherwise you fall into the easier to find range of 15".

    Hood and fender shake

I'm afraid I'd have to agree on the shaking part of it, as balancing will not correct this, same as a shifted belt. But what gets me is that it's not constant. The reason why my first question was wheel bearings, as that was my first diagnostic. And yes, your front will shake from a rear...

    Hood and fender shake

Wheel bearings, new? spindles in good condition? Bent rim ? control arm bushings (upper/lower)? Strut rod bushings? How does it steer? Does it pull? Maybe loose? I can understand you situation, this can come from anywhere. I'm asking all the questions, 1) to bump you back to top, 2) try to...

Why some guy shouldn't own welders.

LOL, somehow he managed to have it sitting relatively straight. Judging by the rear view pic. That is priceless, must've put in a few hours to accomplish that.

    Torsion Bars 892-893 (L&R)

I believe the Diameter is the big difference, for traditional driving/ ride height, it shouldn't be a big issue.

    Man is this spindell toast.

Is that from the same side you had a bent torsion link? Something for sure not right, how's the control arms (upper/lower) and bushings? That looks to me like someone missed the bearing trying to hammer it off. I would be more concerned about it being bent then anything. If the inner race...

    steering coloum spring pic

So it's a broken spring, is it 1/4" in dia.? What lenght? I don't recall where that could've fallen from, taking out your steering column. I can go look in the garage, and see if I can spot something like it, under my dash. But it won't be till tomorrow. The snow is just finally stopping (I...

Uhmm! Now I have to go look, I never noticed that. Where exactly on the front is it? in the center , in front of oil pan? I'm gone out to see, flashlight in hand. Back in a flash, lol.

    suspension kits???

There's a difference between "Polyurethane" and "Polygraphite" bushings. Both of them will give you a bit of a stiffer ride and no doubt better then the rubber. The "Polyurethane" is the one that some people complain about the "squeeking". I used the "Polygraphite" and I'm really pleased...

Brakes are sticking, wheel cylinder/caliper seized = warped drum/rotor. Off the top of my head. All the best.

    Add A Leaf?

An extra leaf was added to mine, way back in it's early days, by the original owner. The leaf came out of a 1/2 ton, mid '60s pick-up (the make will remain silent). It lifted the rear in my estimation about 1 1/2 to 2". The ride is stiffer is really all I can say about it.
