Yes they can, I used my bayonet push in style pistol grip in my Scamp. I just slid the shifter in and bolted it with one bolt and marked the position and drilled my pistol grip to use 2 bolts. Just an idea. I hope this helps ya

Your tranny should be an 23 spline tranny. If it was a big block it would be a 18 spline

Here are the styles of pistol grips in order left to right in the pic B&E body short console B&E body medium bench style, best fit for our A bodies 70 B body non console 70 B body console

If you used the tall 70 non console pistol grip will not work without major modification. But the 71-74 b body bench style shifter works the best for A bodies
