I edited my post with the link in it. Here it is again. I chased down a bad speed related vibration by myself and it turned out to be a pinion angle that was too nose high.

He absolutely was not correct. Maybe he was talking about something other than driveline angles? Here is a nice short YouTube video that explains the angles and how they relate to vibrations, etc. Check this out:

I would check the pinion/driveshaft/trans angles! Check for another post on this here as there is a free smart phone app to use on this.

If the noise is only present in reverse, I would drop the chunk and look for a broken tooth on the gears.

It's the speedo. The internal workings are magnetically driven and it seems that instead, the magnet is touching the spinning drum causing it to be directly driven.

Use POR 15's Metal Ready after it is completely degreased. It will eat all the rust and leave a zinc phosphate coating on the clean steel until you paint it shortly afterward. Prime it,sand it to remove pitting and then paint it.
