I have 2800# SS springs on the back of my Valiant. They hook nice and really reduced body roll from the rear. They are a little stiffer but far from harsh. Here is how it sits with them.

I have them on my Valiant. I love them, they are stiffer then the stock springs but I did not like the spongy stock ride. I have far less body roll in corners, the stance is cool and it really hooks up nice. I did not have to modify anything to install them, they even came with free shackles...

There is a vent on the axle housing so the pressure theory is only possible if the vent is clogged.
