    paint from summit

The Summit paints do not come in factory colors, just a limited selection of approximate ones. They're manufactured by Sherwin Williams. Good quality product at reasonable price.

There's a young fellow here that works for SSand A/FX, his name is Ed... Can't remember his screen name here though... I'm sure he could help you out, and someone here will chime in with his name here.

single stage vs base coat clear

RzeroB, A lot of what we have today "evolved" around the EPA, doesn't really have squat to do with durability or quality. No offense, but the "evolution" of finishes didn't have **** to do with quality or durability, it had to do with emissions.

single stage vs base coat clear

In a different, earlier life, I was a full-time painter. Doesn't mean I know jack about today's finishes. That said almost all I ever did was single stage acrylic or polyurethane enamel. They all looked good, and held up quite well. Typically they were neither sanded or buffed, so you had...

Google Hells Charger... Jim Peruto is a local guy that owns multiple car dealerships, that also has a passion for going fast, on the street. He holds the record at the Silver State Classic. 217mph AVERAGE over 90 miles of road (using an ex NASCAR COT Charger). Hell's Charger is his next...

    tighening up the gaps

"Cars from the fifties used to have really horrible panel alignments and no one cared much." Not here to argue... I'm not THAT old, yet, but I do remember my father got a 32,000 mile '57 BelAir in the early 70's, and I seem to remember that car having really good, clean tight gaps. That car...

    What's this?

I believe its just a sealant. In a previous life I worked in a GM dealer body shop and they had the same thing... I think a squeeze of pipe joint compound (or silicone) on any sheet metal screws where you're concerned about leakage would do the same thing.

God, I hated that bird bath hood when I had one in high school, always collecting water and dirt. But I like it way better than the later ones!

    engine paint..'69 340

Over the winter I bought a July '69 cast date, April '70 build date 340. Came out of the Windsor plant. Obviously repainted on the outside (orange), but when I pulled the 90 degree oil filter adapter, it's blue inside... :coffee2:

    Windshield help

I may be off on this, but I always thought '67-'76 would all be the same... 2 or 4 door. As I said, I may be wrong. This much I do know, Safelite has new ones, and gaskets, and will do them... Reasonably priced, too!

    Carbon Fiber Front End Parts

Dude! You just gave me a woody! I've been wondering for quite some time when we would see this. The glass that's been out there forever is mostly mediocre quality at best. I see some real high quality carbon for bikes and "other" cars that is both superlight AND durable and sometimes think...

    Bondo

Darryl, I like the way you think!LOL When I worked in a body shop as a teenager(30yrs ago), on low rent jobs we would use "Tiger Hair", which was body filler (mud, bondo... whatever you wanna call it) with chopped fiberglass strands in it. On the other side of that, I have cut up gallon thinner...
