n38 is non catalystic exhaust k4(8)? well i think the 8 might be something else. possibly a letter. the k4 part refers to a stripe...

this area? where is there alot of sizzlers at in any area??? they are very seldom seen anymore. most are (were) made into 340 cars from what i have seen....

i see the fender tag is still there. try to see if the build sheet is there also. looks very solid for sitting so long. the column is an ebody column for sure. what a find you got there. glad you kept after the guy! i think i would even put the ac back on for rarity......good luck!:cheers:

looks like someone just didn't have the duster emblems and had a couple of plymouth emblems and stuck them on with the double sided tape. i would bet that behind the plymouth emblems there are holes being covered up as well. i would say this was a quick fix for the holes and lack of good duster...

as far as the dash vin plate. if it has hex head rivots showing then it is probably original. you could post a pic and we could tell you as well.

on the inside of trunk just under the gasket. (you will have to peel it back to see) it is usally near the trunk lock with in a foot to the right or left....

galens books breaks it down to 4265 for manual trans, but this includes the 3 spd's as well. looking at the demons for 71 it shows aprox 1000 3 spd's to the 2051 4 spd's so a good guess would be around 3100 for 71 340 4 spd dusters..

i don't find them tinny at all. at idle on my 6 it is a deep mellow note. when i step into it the sound roars with a deep sound. it really sounds like the car in the magnaflow commercial. it is hard to describe, but tinny is not it.

not a good compairson but i do have them on my intrepid. it is a true dual setup on the 3.2 six. it sounds pretty good to me and i get alot of compliments on it from alot of people. mine are the stainless ones...

hey if it helps with the gas mileage standards that chrysler has to meet on average across the boards then so be it. it looks like about the same size as a volkswagen beetle of today. i could almost see them re nameing it the neon.

that is a strange tag...alot of weird stuff. maybe if you can post a pic of it. some of those things don't make sense to me....
