    Thinking about a turbo slant...

blow thru is easier as you dont have the lag of having to go thru the turbo. also as i recall you can have issues of the fuel un lubing the turbo if you do a draw thru

Whaddaya know about these late OEM blowers?

yea there is a slant guy on here, slantscamp, if i recall and he runs i think a M90/M112 thunderbird unit. whether he cares about the coating ot had something done i dont know. these are really big in the ford mod motor's so you will find alot of info there...

Whaddaya know about these late OEM blowers?

Multiport as the blowers cant have fuel thru them, it will take the coating off the rotors

    help Super Charger Small Block

why both with a 4/71 on a small block? going to have to spin it to much to make it worth it and then your efficiency will drop. use a 6/71 and under drive it and make the same power with less effort

    Boost referenced timing retard

hmm interesting. I figured your upgrade would be the current coil.

    its all good Bill. :burnout:

    Boost referenced timing retard

    yea i like those!

    Boost referenced timing retard

think about it... its the same vacuum Bill, just different times... manifold vacuum is when ever the manifold is. venturi vacuum depends on throttle angle and rpm. but in the end will still be the same overall number... the engine only produces X amount of vacuum. your talking about something...

    Boost referenced timing retard

all the old school boost guys i know run 20 locked

    Boost referenced timing retard

Bill im just gonna run a uber loose dizzy in the blower car. 10 in the dizzy all in by 600, so 20 total. see how it goes from there. but what you do is lock the mechanical to what ever you "boost" timing number is. then use the vacuum can (on the manifold vacuum) to achieve your off boost...

    Boost referenced timing retard

you can hook your vacuum advance canister up to manifold vacuum, when i hits boost it will go back to "static" timing.

    Island Map??

i had a book at school that had all the math but they kept them, one of my friends has one and he will be coming over soon so i'll have the name of it

    Island Map??

its easy, the closer to the "eye of the storm" the better it will be for your combo. by doing the math for a given engine you'll get the info for a given rpm and make a plot, after say 4 plots (or every 1000 rpm) you'll see if you get to far out of the eye. then find another map (different...

    Cylinder head mods for Blowers

    hey no big,

    Cylinder head mods for Blowers

well right, but i mean taking a head and making it as physically big as it can go, roughly the same size as the valve all the way thru (or bigger) regardless on how it flows on the bench

    Cylinder head mods for Blowers

rusty this is to weird... i was thinking today if you could get the most volume in a port, regardless of cfm if it would make more power as its has less backpressure. terry on .org runs 1.8/1.6 valves

    Identifying 6/71 Cases

it does matter, the difference is more between a small and large case than a 6 and an 8/71... Here are some general displacement figures for standard helix (30 degrees of twist) roots blowers: A small rotor 6-71 displaces approx 339 cubic inches per revolution, a standard rotor 6-71 is 411...

    Identifying 6/71 Cases

i have not found a single thread other than this post that breaks down the visable differences between a 6-71 Small Case/Bore, 6v-71, and a 6-71 Large Case/Bore. The small bore 6 has 3 reinforcement cross bars on the inlet side, and tops of all of them are machined. (no pic) The stock...

    1.5L/90ci Blower On A Slant

wow two 450's, wonder if thats even enough! the 6/71 guys seem to think a pair of 600's is below minimum in a small chevy or ford.

    1.5L/90ci Blower On A Slant

hmm interesting! i have seen mention of him and his car but never was able to find pics or specs. a 4/71 is still not out of line for me, though i think the 6/71 will make a ton more power with it underdriven (high efficiency). the gear thing is interesting and the rpm shift points are way up...

Compressor Map For 4/71 and 6/71 Roots

i spent 4 hrs last night on dyers, the blower shop, bds, and littlefield and couldn't find any of that! grr, but thanks. i figure the 6/71 will move so much volume i wont have to have the pressure up to make my power goal, as well as keeping the rpm down (heat) so i think the best thing i can do...
