    Treasures found under the seats

I part a car or two just about every year and scrounge salvage yards when I can. I've found lots of odd stuff over the years but nothing really valuable. I've found lot's of spare change and hippie-related materials in the 60s and 70s cars. The better things I've found were ram...

    A body seat questions

OK, I have a pair of bucket seats from a 76 Aspen and they look very similar to seats in A body cars I've owned so I have a few questions. 1 - Are the frames basically the same as other A body seats from about 70 and up? 2- Is the hole pattern/spacing the same as earlier seats so I could use...

    Rust free rust buckets . . .

That's nothin - I drove 5 hours to Missouri to look at a 70 Ambassador a couple years ago. I had 2 pictures and his word - his word wasn't worth diddly. :sad10: All I can say is it was a Missouri ditch rider. :toothy8: I can go on for hours about that car. Had $2000 on the windshield...

    Rust free rust buckets . . .

I'll agree to that - I always check out the cars I buy personally - unless I have a really good friend in the area that is very knowledgeable about cars. The Spirit I looked at the same day was checked out first by one of those guys. He described it pretty well but I'll probably pass on it...

That's hard to believe that Dart was actually described as rust free. I see it has the rare deluxe leather interior option, too - good score !!! :blackeye: I'd post pics of the car I checked out but I think the guy is a member here - although I found the car through other people I...

    What a waste.....

That sounds like a great deal - I hope the car doesn't get destroyed. 8) The average derby guy has little interest in classic cars or parts. I don't like AMC Pacers much but apparently they are the best car made for the demo class they run in - they destroy hundreds of them every year...

Wow, look what the car drug home.lol again!

ROTFLMAO !!! I found one of those for my little brother last year because he wanted one. He came over about a week ago and said he'd pretty much give it to me so he didn't have to keep it around. I told him about the only thing I would do with it is jack it up and drop a brick on the gas...

    Rust free rust buckets . . .

Yup, that 'Cuda is a potential 2 million dollar gold mine. After, of course, you swap out 90% of the sheet metal, install a Hemi, and fake up a few little tags and stamp a few numbers in the right places.

    Rust free rust buckets . . .

I agree completely with Dave - that first car looks pretty nice underneath. That 'Cuda is probably 90% rust free, right?

    Rust free rust buckets . . .

Yeah, I know that. I always considered the term "rust free" to mean "reasonably rust free". Meaning maybe a couple small surface rust spots and a little tinge of rust on unpainted parts on the undercarriage - that would seem reasonable to me.

    Rust free rust buckets . . .

It's gone, now - "off white interior" was underlined a couple of minutes ago and when I put the cursor on it a little spam add popped up for ladies sandles. Same thing happened to me a few days ago.

    Rust free rust buckets . . .

How come some of my posts somehow get something underlined in them for some reason? If you put the cursor on it a little spam add pops up. It's definately not me doing it - is some butt-hole on this forum doing it so it looks like I am ??? That's pretty frickin low in my book if it is . . . . . .

    Rust free rust buckets . . .

I'm beginning to think the term "rust free" has absolutely no meaning at all to most people any more. I took a road trip yesterday to look at 2 possible cars for my next project. The first one was a 72 Plymouth Scamp 318/auto car and the second one was an 83 AMC Spirit. When I heard about the...

    What a waste.....

The first car is pretty neat - somebody ought to save that one. The second car looks like a hack job to flip it for a profit. Looks like all the guy did was stick a Hurst hood on it and change the seat covers and he's selling it as a Hurst 300 "clone" for $6900 ????? Wouldn't see me...

Why do people do this? Waste!

Is that place local ??? I've never seen those cars. There is this place in a small town just south of the Wisconsin border I stopped at once a few years back. It was an old closed up gas station with about 15 A and B body Mopars sitting there. Had a black Charger like that sitting in front...

Need advice on used parts purchase.

I've been doing swaps a long time now and only in the last few years has it deteriorated to what it is now. I'll agree, the guys in the middle are dropping out - it's mostly guys giving away junk and trash they don't want and a few guys that think their stuff is made out of gold any more. I'm...

Well, I'm still looking for that "cheap bastard" thread you guys were talking about a few days ago. Doesn't matter, though - looks like these threads pop up all the time around here. :evil4: That 64 Chevy truck trans is still for sale - I sold my boat years ago and don't need an anchor...

Need advice on used parts purchase.

I wouldn't offer a whole lot - it's pretty much a buyer's market and most people seem to think you should give the parts to them and ship them for free. I did 20 swap meets last year and I can tell you one thing - it's very frustrating and time consuming and unless you're just giving your stuff...

who has the cuda with e-body scoops?

Those 'Cuda hoods look kool - I think I found a use for the two hoods I've had sitting for the last 20 years now. :yawinkle: I always thought about doing that - has anybody ever opened up the scoops for a ram air system ???

Spreading comaraderie and giving out free parts is a great thing if you can afford to do so. Some can, some can't. Personally, I give away and trade plenty of parts - but, I also pay my bills and buy the parts I need for my projects by selling off parts I don't need. I'm not condoning what a...

    Lets talk abt 1st cars!

First car was a 68 Javelin 390/auto for $500 back in 73. It'd been rearended and had a 70 tail panel and lights installed and a 5 color blue and silver panelled metal flake paint job applied with 69 "Mod" scoops on the hood - VERY 60s. It lasted one hour at our new high school - I...

When Did You Drive Your First.....................

I think a lot of people learned to drive in V-Dubs in the 60s and 70s. They were pretty easy to drive, cheap, and plentiful. ;-) Besides a few tractors and lawnmowers when I was younger . . . . First 3 on the tree - 67 Chevy pickup with a 327 back in 69 (12 years old) grandma let me...

My parents let me drive their 69 Fairlane a little but I really learned how to drive in a 63 VW. I loved that car - sub-lime green, Ansens, sunroof. :love7: Learned a lot about hard cornering in that car - crank the wheel hard till the back end lets go, crank it the other way and just keep it...
