71 Twister used the same scoops as a 70 Dart. They should be open as far as I know. Im not sure about holes in the hood though. Ive read that some Demon/Dart Sports didnt have holes in the hood either

I agree. The scoop was only available on 72 Demons and 73 Dart Sports. Some say 74 Dart Sport also but I'm not 100% sure. No 340 Duster ever had hood scoops. Only Duster Twisters.

my 69 Satellite ran low 15s all stock except for the exhaust.

The fenderwell headers would possibly make more torque because of the longer tubes. I ran 3" exhaust on my 69 Barracuda 340, I wouldnt say the loss of torque was noticeable. Did cost me anymore to do and It didnt seem louder then the 2.5" The tone seemed deeper to me though.

I would get some 15s for the track. Less rotating weight, more sidewall. That stiff sidewall wall with those 17" rims could cause traction issues.

QTP are DOT legal.

The M/T and Hoosier Drag radials hook the best. The Nitto's are suppose to be the friendliest on the street. Is the car mini tubbed ?

Ive ran them on my last 3 street cars. Never had a problem. My last car I used a solid on the driver side and rubber on the passenger side.

27X9 is about the same size as a 255-60-15. It should fit. With a 408 you should have plenty of torque and wont need a ton of gear.

The biggest slick you can fit, which is probably a 27X9

In your case, Theres no reason for them to be opened. No heat, No vent boxes.

I read you can swap pistons with out valve reliefs to the opposite bank. The pink is slightly offset so this will but the piston top up slightly in the bore.

Thats the FAST class though, What about the stock guys ? Im guessing most of them are running race fuel also ?

I dont know if there is a spec fuel but for the stock class they lest them run 1.5 extra points of compression for some reason.
