    Another early a header question

I have tried three different sets of manifolds in my 65 barracuda. 340 manifolds and a couple different sets of A body and E body manifolds, everything hits the steering. You are limited to the choked 273 drivers manifold or Doug's or TTI headers. I went with Doug's.

So did the Plymouth Valiant name come from a french cartoon character?

I know what the adjective Valiant means, smart asses. :banghead: I am referring to the similarities in the name and badge. Same colors on the badge and same basic shape. That is what I am referring too.

So did the Plymouth Valiant name come from a french cartoon character?

I recently stumbled across this while watching some World Touring Car Racing. Check out the name and logo and on a Chevy Cruize even. Look familiar? I did a little more digging and came up with this. Michel Vaillant is the title of a French comics series created in 1957 by French...

    Early A steering column question

Thanks Mike. I was looking at mine and I can't tell if it is. The class that I run in requires one, but if the car never came with one and I can run a factory column then I'm confused. I might have to call someone on this one.

    66 hipo dart info

Looks like a great buy to me. My 65 Barracuda is a hipo car and came with a 7 1/4 rear and tiny drums. I guess these were goin' cars and not stopin' cars. Anythings possible.

Possible to get early A down to 2,700lbs?

Exactly what I was thinking. Are you going to Vegas in the spring?

Possible to get early A down to 2,700lbs?

Thanks everyone. I feel much better. Steve my plans have changed a little. I am going to run in the bigger displacement class and just add lead to the car to get as close to a 50/50 as possible and hit the 3,000lb min limit. I have heard from a few that run that class saying that the torque...

Possible to get early A down to 2,700lbs?

Haven't weighed the car yet, because I am still putting it back together. I have swapped to a mini starter and aluminum intake, aluminum master cylinder. That's a few more pounds.

Possible to get early A down to 2,700lbs?

Waggin I'm not desperate enough to start drilling holes yet, but I am in the process of scraping all of the undercoating.

Possible to get early A down to 2,700lbs?

Wow that is light. I had no idea. Thanks Hotlines Yes I can use all of these. There are very few modifications that I can't do, like swapping to an IRS or moving the firewall. Things like that. There are also tire limitations, depending on weight. The biggest one is engine size. Once...

Possible to get early A down to 2,700lbs?

I plan on running the car as is this year at a few events in Salt Lake and Ogden. It won't be very competitive running the factory 904, street tires and an open diff, but will give me something to play with while I collect more parts.

Possible to get early A down to 2,700lbs?

Is 2,700lbs even possible with a small block 65 Barracuda without fiberglass panels? In SCCA Prepared C Class in order to take advantage of them minimum weight limits of running a 273. The max displacement of this weight class is 5.1L or 5,100cc. A 318 is 5,200cc so it would put me in the...

    65 Barracuda Trunk Lock Help

Honestly I would do that, but I want to replace the wood panel anyway and all of the interior. The car is in the process of being torn down and I was going to buy new locks for the car anyway. I don't want to be fighting 47 year old locks.

    65 Barracuda Trunk Lock Help

I kind of thought about that too and I really think it's the best option so far. It still cracks me up that they made that panel out of wood. Time to get out the jig saw. Thanks

    65 Barracuda Trunk Lock Help

Like an idiot I shut my trunk lid and have no key. :banghead: Well I have had to remove the back seat to pop the clip on many mopars because of not having a key to the trunk lock, but my 65 Barracuda has me stumped, other than calling a locksmith. I'm sure that most of the you know the hinged...

    Dual Master Cylinder brake lines?

I did a brake swap on my 65 Barracuda, but I had a 73 Dart parts car and a 73 340 dart sport. I swapped everything, spindles, disc brakes, distribution block. I picked up an aluminum 2 bolt dual mater cylinder and adapter plate from Dr. Diff. I even swapped the 8 1/4 rear with 3.23 gears and...

    Magnum 5.2 into early A?

Going through the same thing with a 65 Barracuda with a 273 with 318 heads. I think alot of it depends if it has power steering. Mine does and the only thing that will work are doug's headers, spitfires, early 273 manifolds (what I am using). I tried 340 manifolds and 71 318 manifolds and had...

Champion Radiator in an Early A Body

My guess is that it's the width. I know the factory made 22" and 26" radiators for the later cars.
