No doubt about it; an A/F ratio meter is NOT CHEAP, but I can't imagine trying to tune any forced-induction engine without one. It could probably be done, but, not by me.... :banghead:

If you have a good-quality, working, A/F meter, is there any reason why you should need (or, want) to "read" spark plugs? I'd think the mixture information you could get from a wideband, data-logging, oxygen sensor would be better than anything a spark plug could show you, but I am asking...

Thanks for the good information. I appreciate it! I think the stoichiometric ratio for gasoline is 14.7:1, but they recommend a ratio of 11.5:1 for boosted engines, so, I wonder what that E-85-R number changes to, under 20 pounds of boost. Probably, a lot richer.....

Maybe a rear-mount turbo (back by the rear bumper) with a stock, low-rise intake manifold with a bonnet like SixPakAttack has might be low enough??? It's worth looking into; the performance gan would be outta site... You could modify that carb hat, which is already low, by using just one end...

NHRA uses horsepower factoring to adjust the classes for their idea of "parity" in Stock and Super Stock ratings. Eons ago, cars were classified by their shipping weight divided by their advertised horsepower but that was so long ago I can't even remember when they changed to the "factored"...

Have you got any kind of a carb spacer under that 650? By increasing the plenum volume, a 1"-tall spacer will trick the engine into thinking you've got a bigger carb than you have... and, they're cheap. Good luck!:cheers:
