I believe they are correct, we reused the ones that were on the engine prior to the rebuild. Dampner hasn't spun, it's still pointing to TDC for #1.

I feel for you. I inherited a set of ceramic coated Hooker long tubes on my 74 Dart. The drivers side are destroyed, steering box knuckle wore right through one tube and the lowest tube is wore right through from rubbing various speed bumps, curbs, etc. I can't tell you how many times I cursed...

I did exactly the same thing when I bought my 74. It's nice and solid underneath.

My first Dart a 1972 Swinger that was running, I drove it home. Started taking it apart to see how bad it was. Time I got to the fame and couldn't lift it by the rails because they were rotted through, I gave up on it. Paid $2000 sold it for parts and ended up with $750.
