Paint on rear window chrome pieces, '65 Barracuda

 "... it's only a five color job," possibly on (58 year old) pot metal. Any powder rookie should be jumping all over that.

BAFFLES FOR THE 318 VALVE COVERS - OIL LEAK

Confirm the width on your valve cover with the "standard" grommet. Lots of cast covers are closer to a half inch in thickness at the knockout and the grommet channel is too narrow to seat all the way.

BAFFLES FOR THE 318 VALVE COVERS - OIL LEAK

CalCustoms valve covers have a knockout boss inside under the logo for a PCV valve. Some were drilled for baffle plate use and others just had a pad on either side to accept a drill bit.

    Commando valve covers

No, I was only 14 when my parents decided Colorado was the place to be. Sometimes my brother took me in his split bumper Camaro though (before a Davenport city bus crushed it ... which disappointingly turned into a new Horizon TC3 and was too embarrassing to be seen in.) I still miss Country...

    Commando valve covers

Hey those are mine! Well, my restoration work anyway. There are two styles, the full-bodied ones like in my photo and the o-ring type used on @65dartcharger's in his After Photo he shared with me. The fins will tell you which ones you need. If there is a slot on the larger center upright...

    Aluminum valve cover issue

Cool idea but I have the feeling you're going to have some issues with dissimilar metals over time.

    The End and The Beginning

You're truly a fun and knowledgeable guy Dan! I enjoyed getting to know you, working with you, and reading your posts. I for one will miss you! When a door closes another opens. I hope our paths cross again. Best of luck for the future!!

    66valient just dies

Check out how your coil is mounted if it turns out to be okay, especially if it's an aftermarket. Even though bolted into the stock position on the intake manifold, it's horizontal -- move it upright to the firewall and watch the problem disappear. According to the MSD guy, laying on its side...

    commando valve cover

I've restored several dozen sets of these through the years (and have two sets in line right now). Here's an old thread I'm just tossing out here for consideration. HP 273 Commando Valve Covers -- PSC vs. MOPAR ... Customers' Input & Photos Requested

    Learning to hate Facebook

90% of my shop's business used to come from this very site's members. Today, it's FaceBook that brings them in. Funny what can happen in ten years' time. And I like cats. :D

Metal coating good latches- gold in color

Sign up for Caswell's mailing list. They have sales a few times a year, and the plating kits are always included. Through the years I've seen anywhere from 5%-20% off.

Where O where to find a good chrome shop

Not anymore George. They closed a few months ago. Keep in mind that most of the front grille parts you mentioned aren't chromed, they're polished aluminum and stainless.

    1967 Barracuda trunk script emblem???

I have two in my stash, one all chromed/polished and the other with a black outline. Do you know if either is right? I can get you the part numbers and pin locations.

    A body 273 V8 Commando air cleaner

For what it's worth, someone finally makes a decent chrome-replica powder that still looks good after the clear coat!!! :-D I used it as a base for the candy red "Edelbrock" logo, and alone on the ribs. This YouTube walk-around Powder **** video will show you more. (I didn't take a lot...

Source for new 273 commando valve cover breathers???

Lame description indeed Benny ... if Billy wasn't on the phone I'd be calling them to ask already. * * * Now that he's off the phone, I learned Mega Parts is open from 1:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday (assuming the Central time zone since it's in Wisconsin) and they're usually around...

    New carpet

Another vote here for StockInteriors.com ... decent quality, great price, lightspeed shipping (3 days!), different piles to choose from, and free samples to look at in advance. It's not a preformed kit and there is some trimming / heat gun effort involved to mold it, but it's not bad at all.

Not a problem at all! I got out of high temp ceramic coatings a few years ago; the shipping costs to and from BFE were too prohibitive for my customers. It looks like you got a nice quality job there! You might want to read the fine print of any warranty they may have offered and see if the...
