Hey all, Got the truck to the track on Saturday. It was a hot muggy day with the DA around 3000'. I was able to run a best of 10.64@122mph. Truck ran consistent all day. I was able to get down to the final 6 cars before I lost a close race. Video of some passes http://youtu.be/WsQTYnjrFmE

Ours are notched up underneath to clear the springs but they are used and the guy had some ungodly amount of lift on his engine....

Well its been a long process due to some health issues with my father but now that has calmed down we got the motor dyno'd this week... A little back story.... we actually had the engine in the truck and made it to the track. Dad made one pass and lost oil pressure... So we pulled it out...

Well... This is a far as we've gotten so far... I've sent the converter back to ATI to be tweeked so until that gets back there's not a lot we can do. Now we play the waiting game....

That cam went 10.80's in the 60 over 440 with the same top end with 12.5:1... Its a race only setup but would idle nice at 1800 rpm... 1 less compression point and 50 more cubes with a 1/2" more stroke.... I guess we'll see...

Why is it I always seem to over estimate my junk... I'm hoping for 750 from my 505 build that's under way but if this 540 won't make 700 then I might be in trouble.... man, spring is so far away....

I was wondering the same thing... I saw yesterday that Summit has a windage tray that replaces the oil pan gasket as it has silicone around the edges like a steel valve cover. Looked like a good idea. Does anyone know what windage tray I need for a 4.25 stoke crank with Chevy journals?

Do you have a 3/4 race cam in that Cuda...... Our 440 was 12.5:1 and ran 110... its expensive as hell up here... 90 to 100$ for about 6 gallons. When your going rounds it adds up. If this motor can make more power and run on pump 94 which will be half of cost or less then why build a race gas...

As a base to build a 505 stroker? It's cheap but needs to be worked over. I was told the 74 to 78 blocks are the strongest. A new block is another option but depends on $$

So it looks like we might go with the 440 source 512 kit. 30 over it will be 505ci. We want to run this motor on pump gas but the chambers in our 440sr's are only 60cc's. Looks like the comp will be 11.5 which I think will be ok with 94 octane which is not too hard to find and a lot cheaper then...

Hey Keith... not sure yet but we need to build a new short block for sure. Not sure if this block can be saved... Dad pulled the head and pulled out the piston out. It looks like maybe a head gasket failed and it hydrauliced that cylinder.
