Need hood scoop mounting studs and some info

I never had any luck finding them and the ones I did find online we're ridiculously priced and I was not about to pay that kind of money for a few nuts. My father works at a shop and ended up taking some studs out of a couple sets of exterior car mirrors that were the same style studs I needed...

Hey guys.... been putting this off for awhile because I was having trouble finding them. But the duster is just about finished and I need to get it taken care of. I have a set of the twin scoops for my duster. a total of 8 of the mounting studs are missing. I am sure I can find something...

    Rear bumper installation pics

Here is a few pictures of my 72 duster (should all be the same as your 71 bumper mounting wise) from before, during and after paint. I welded on new quarter panels and a tail panel. my originals were really rough and the PO had attempted repairs in the past aswell so....I am not sure if any of...

    removing aluminum anodizing

I used easy off oven cleaner for ALOT of my trim parts. And have had good luck. The trick I found was to roughly sand the parts first and THEN use the over cleaner. It allows it to soak in fast and have a faster/better reaction which in turn makes for less applications and wait time. once...

New Sharktooth Grille on the horizon?

Going to have to agree with Dan on this. don't get me wrong, I like the standard grill and i really like the sharktooth grill. But I think they are WAY over priced!. I picked my 69 valiant grill up for $100.00 from a member here awhile back, with headlight bezels, with turnsignal lenses and...

    best paint and clear coat......

It was by no means "cheap" lol. but yes,its was the cheaper option. I ended up buying a gallon and a half unmixed . so about 3 gallons mixed and I used pretty much every drop of it!. BUT then again, i did under hood, under deck lid, engine bay, door jambs and all of the exterior. I even used a...

    best paint and clear coat......

I used PPG's shopline on my duster. Came out great. only thing I have to complain about was that I got horrible coverage with the color. I had to run 5 coats of color to get it where i wanted it. However, I am not sure if that was the fault of the product or if its just that the color itself...

    Trunk Weather stripping?

I use clear silicone you find in the caulk section of your local home improvement store. The good stuff. It was like $8.00 a tube. Some guys say don't use it and to buy the expensive stuff but I say pffffttt on that lol. I've been doing it this way for years and the original owner did it that...

does anyone know what car/year that one grill comes off of?

I converted over to a 69 valiant grill in my 72 duster a couple of years ago ( I guess you could say before it became popular to do so). It was a no brainer for me.....sure, I like the shark tooth grills. But why would i spend $800.00-$1500.00 for a plastic grill with cracks (or that could...

    Repalcement Door Handles

sounds like the rod that runs from the handle linkage down to the latch itself has a slight bend in it. which would cause it not to "throw down" far enough when you engage the door handle button. (there are two seperate rods that run to the latch ....one for interior handle, one for exterior...

    primer issues. HELP !!!!

you can try....but odds are they wont do anything. that's like contacting pillsbury because your cookies didn't come out right lol. you can say you followed the directions to a T and they would probably just blame it on humidity or your oven HAHA

    primer issues. HELP !!!!

Im going to have to say it didnt have enough time to flash off the solvents at that temperature. sucks having to redo work. The way I am doing my duster is doing all my body work, laying down primer, sand, primer, sand, then using a 2 part epoxy primer/sealer ,then paint.

Dangers of spray foam in body panels?

don't spray foam. having replaced quarters and trunk extensions on my duster due to the previous owner thinking spray foam was a good idea. I can vouch that it does infact hold moisture and can reek havoc on the metal. what i am planning on doing (and what others have mentioned) is completely...

Does Primer need to be filtered

you dont want debris in your paint or clear so you shouldnt want it in your primer either. after all, if a chunk of dirt in your primer gets on the car....and you then spray paint and clear over top of that....you will still see it. like was said, strain everything. I always mix my paint up...
