I just installed my 440 from the bottom in my 71 demon with the k frame, transmission and headers attached this weekend. I had no problems at all during installation.

They had a few sets on the shelf when I called last year. I believe the company was previously named Rocker Arm Specialties.

I just installed a set of Rocker Arm Unlimited rockers on my big block. Have not run the motor yet but they seem pretty solid.

Here is a picture of my set up. Im using a 66-69 hemi oil pan on a 440 with the DC spool type k frame. The bottom of the pan sump is about a 1/2” lower than the bottom of the k frame so I added a reproduction skid plate for safe measure.

The seal comes with pretty good instructions as well and I used the Right Stuff brand sealer on the sides. It looks like some blocks and certain seal retainer combos don’t properly align and are slightly offset in relation to the seal grove when centered on the block. A slight side to side...

For what it’s worth I cured my big block rear main leak by using seal P/N 10806G from fast fish auto parts. Also used the stock seal retainer.

I ordered my 440-200 TTI’s through hemi Denny.

There are currently 2 used sets of Schumacher big block headers listed on eBay (not mine) if anyone is looking.

I have done a little research and a several folks have moved the box without any issues with the steering angles or geometry. I have also found that several folks have even installed the newer power steering box with TTI headers (did require a few small dings and these were on a B block, not...

That makes sense. There is a lot of variation from car to car so what works on one may not work on another. I am going to try and install one of the new/smaller power steering boxes as well (will be using 2” TTI headers so things will be tight). I am also considering cutting the steering box...

The mounts on that k frame look like they have been cut off and rewelded in the big block position to me.

I have used Morgan’s machine and speed in Walnut Creek and had good results. He has been building race hemis for boats since the late 70’s/early 80’s.

Can you post a few pics of the steering mount area from your cars? I also noticed my big block k frame has half washers welded under the lower control arm pivots. I believe some of the early 70's 340 cars got these installed as well.

My plan is to swap the mounts onto one of my other k frames which looks fairly simple to do. Worst case I will tack it all together and test fit the motor and steering box before I finish weld everything into place. Thought about using aftermarket adapter mounts but I have read many stories of...

I have 2 68's and 1 69. All three have the steering box mounting plate in the same config.

Almost looks like the steering box is rotated slightly away from the motor on the big block k when compared to the small block k frames. The reason I ask is because I have found 2 different k frames listed for 68-69 big block a bodies. P/N 2883984 is listed for 1968 383 with manual steering...
