360 was a smallblock that didnt come out until 1971. 361 was a low deck big block from the 50's and 60's not sure of the exact years. SpeedThrills is right, a '66 would never have had a 360 from the factory.

Forgot to say I repeatedly tried the push and twist method, but I'll try it with some vasoline tomorrow and see what happens. I can't believe I just said that with a straight face!!

I put a new o ring on the distributor of my 440 and am having a terrible time gettin the thing to seat. I confirmed everything is lined up correctly, without the o ring the dist. slides all the way down and seats like it should. I tried setting it dry, oiled, even tried chillin it in the freezer...

I hear ya, I'm not a big fan of high volume oil pumps for that very reason, besides, my 440 is all stock so theres just no need. It sure stinks learning those expensive lessons the hard way though doesn't it!
