Hey all. A few years ago I replaced the bulb sockets with some universal sockets from parts store. Now they are coming lose and need fixing again. Is there anyplace to get factory style replacements? Thanks in advanced.

One thing I remeber bout when I do e mine. Dont follow around the corners so much. If u do your trunk will not close. And to adjust it to close it will stick ip higher than quarters. Wait for other to show pics of the correct placement. Good luck

I know this is kinda meam, but I hope he at least has a headache. If not from the wreck, from the beer. Since you have not seen the car I would think YOU did not let him drive it after a few to many. Worst case he can always get another shell and transfer parts to it.

My car is a 71 and had the same problem. With sagging doors and thin metal round the striker it's gonna happen. I had a 73 parts car and the jambs were perfect. They had about a 4" sq 1/4 backing plate. So I drilled out the striker and added it to the 71. Hope this gives you an idea. So parts...

Where is the best place to get weather stripping for the doors? Not just price but quality. Like I found a set but did not come with screws unless you order them as well. So lets here where you got your seals from. If it matters I have a 71 Swinger.

Good luck. It took me almost 3 days to tape off all that. I painted the silver first, then taped it off to paint the black. What a PITA. But my grill looks 100% better.

I have used magnets to hold patch in place till I tacted it. then remove and finish welding. For small screw and bolt holes used a piece of brass on backside of work area.

I think either is correct. I say that because, I had a 71 project and a 71 parts car. 1 had fiberglass the other had cast. It may be where the car was assembled that depend on which one the car got. Well, lets see a pic. I painted my car Plum Crazy and like you I left the holes for the trim. I left the trim off and looked at the car for 3 weeks before I decided to put the vinyl top on. I like the look so much better with the high impack colors. just my .02.

Thanks guys. I did have trouble getting my gun down to 10psi, will it would not work. It did work at 20. I do have a gauge at the gun for bast possible measurement of air. When the sun comes out today I will take pics of after wax....

Thanks guys. I wet sanded with 800 grit and applied the 3rd coat. I also found out the I should have sprayed at 10psi for a HVLP. I think to much gun pressure was the reason I had so much orang peal. I have since wet sanded with ending at 2000 grit then buffed. Today I will polish to complete...

And from what I understand you can get repo tail light lense for the 70 but not the 71. SO makes the swap more wanted.

I got mine from Year One. It's called the 1/4 window seal. Came as a set for if I remember $25 for both. My car is a 71 but that seal should be the same. They do not come with the chrome trim piece just the rubber. Hope this helps.
