    Gate or Ratchet - ??

Here is what i've found so far regarding gate/ratchet: Gate Operated - Gate shifters use a "gate" to move the shifter through the gears. The gate is normally designed so it will only move one gear at a time. Starting all the way back in first gear you would push the shifter over and up into...

    Gate or Ratchet - ??

When you say you have to use both hands to get into reverse, do you mean you have to pull the little trigger with one hand and shift with the other hand?

Removing inner axle seals in an 8 3/4

I had a hell of a time removing mine. The rear end had been sitting in a field for 20 years, but i dont know if that would affect it. I used a slide hammer and it took a little time and a lot of muscle to get them out. But that was the first time ive ever done that, so who knows.

Average price of a 8 3/4 small bolt pattern?

i bought my 8 3/4 abody rear for $400, 2.76 1-tire-fire, but mine was the large bolt pattern. You can find them on ebay for cheaper, but like everything else on ebay, you have no idea what you are getting. It may look fantastic in the pic, but when you buy it the ring gear could be cracked on...

Ya i already have it, and i doubt i can find a stronger case let alone one in my price range. Im not going to be drag racing this car, its just going to be a mild street car i suppose. All i have in this car is a 318 with some mild aftermarket parts.

I just bought an 8 3/4 ( 741 case) the other day and got it tore apart today and it is without suregrip and has 2.76 gears. I was wondering if ring and pinion gears out of a 742 case would fit in a 741 case? Also, i am in need of a suregrip assembly, what is the going rate for these? And if...
