well my dad tore apart the valve body and said there wasnt anything wrong with it, so we will put it all back together and see if it shifts right, and if it doesnt ill just push it off a cliff

i forgot to mention that one is a '68 and the other is a '78. I didnt know if they made any big changes between those years or not?

I had a hell of a time removing mine. The rear end had been sitting in a field for 20 years, but i dont know if that would affect it. I used a slide hammer and it took a little time and a lot of muscle to get them out. But that was the first time ive ever done that, so who knows.
