    I took cookie sheet and painted it with the correct Mopar Turqoise paint, and had my paint store scan it. So I used single stage Urethane out of a gun after I cleaned and primered it.

    Actually, it is right above the Intake port. The Exhaust ports are the rusty looking ones. They will be much hotter than the intake runner. Although they do connect together below the carb. This will transfer some heat to the intake, but I think it is negligible.

    Can't get the $&@# harmonic balancer back on!

    Two things. Make sure that the crankshaft keyway is installed properly and not crooked, as in front to low or rear too low. Secondly, I always clean the mating surfaces of the balancer and crank. Then use anti seize compound to ease the installation.

    Those Pure One filters are actually very good units. I have used them and spray bombed them.

    Buy a nice Wix filter. They are also supplied by Carquest. But, I would rather have one that said Wix on it personally.

    You need the longer Mopar filter to fit that. Not sure what the correct Mopar # is for it, but the longer ones are available aftermarket by many companies. Just don't put a Fram on it. On a side note...... I once had a girl tell me to give her 12in and make it hurt. So I hit it twice and slapped...

    Actually that gasket doesn't look too bad. I have seen a lot worse. Also, I don't think it will make any difference in performance on a one barrel if you use a thinner gasket.

    I would buy 3 ft of each. 1/8 in, 3/16 in, 1/4 in, 3/8 in. Does not need to be silicone.
