Cleaning matte dash paint, any tricks?

Soaked my rusty ash tray in evaporust and it cleaned up amazingly, but for some reason the black paint looks really nice now, while the rest of my dash looks pretty crap. Short of soaking my dash in a giant pot of evaporust what's a good way to tidy up faded old dash paint?

Plastic 90's B Van window cranks fit a-bodys?

Has anybody tried this? I need to replace my cranks so wondered if OE style was the only option. My interior is almost totally black so thought maybe the black plastic van cranks wouldn't look out of place, but is the crank spline the same?

Column shift guys, where have you put your Tach?

I'm thinking bottom of dash may be too far out of site, I do have a shift light but like to watch the tach when I'm driving, which leaves two choices for me, drill into column cover, or make a custom bracket / bezel that attaches under dash pad. Anyone got a setup like that we can see?

Slots in the rear parcel shelf, what are they really for? Seatbelts?

Any one got photos of how the top anchor attaches or is welded to parcel shelf?

That's cool, where would you find those belt surround bezels? And how does the belt anchor attach?

Slots in the rear parcel shelf, what are they really for? Seatbelts?

I'd love to see what factory rear shoulder belts look like in an a-body.

Slots in the rear parcel shelf, what are they really for? Seatbelts?

You know what I'm talking about, those slots with a couple of screw holes just outside them that are on the far left and right of the rear parcel shelf. Look like they were for retractable seat belts but surely not, as even the 60's MoPars had them.

How do you glue these back on?

Most of those automotive plastics were ABS so use MEK to glue, if you need to fill, use ABS cement from a plumbing store, it's usually a thick gooey grey semi liquid melted ABS, I use it to build up around studs that have broken off making it stronger than OE when dried, and you can sand to...

Column shift guys, where have you put your Tach?

Mounting a small 3" tach in my column shifted duster, and went to mount it to my column as I have in the past, and then realised, I cant put a hose clamp in front of the gear indicator face due to the hazard light button, I didn't want to drill a hole and screw to the column cover but may have...

    Thanks, all good news

    Replacement hard headliners, whats best?

Do you think the fit of the abs one is good enough that an uncovered version could just be painted rather than covered?

    Replacement hard headliners, whats best?

Got a pretty beat-up headliner so betting it won't be easily repairable, was wondering about replacement options. I see there's a hardboard one that comes in two pieces, which I'm thinking the join won't look original, and there's an ABS version, that I'm worried will warp and go funny on a hot...

    Removing hard headliner 75 duster.

Hmmm good to know, I was planning to reglue the delaminated stuff, maybe I should try and do it in place.

    Removing hard headliner 75 duster.

Hi all, got delaminating headliner in my 75 duster, wondering how hard are they to remove? What holds them up? I assume they don't have bows like the vinyl headliners, my 74 and 75 dusters are the first post 60's cars I've had, so finding the change in technology interesting to say the least.

Cheapest seat covers split bench 74 duster?

Hi all, have a caravan interior 74 duster with toasted front seat, looking to replace covers while the seat is out for spring repairs, who does the cheapest factory style covers? I'm picking I won't get caravan stripe again so probably have to do front and rear $$$$$$

Heater delete air boxes? Seen em?

Both my dusters are LHD, just don't like how the air boxes are different, I may use something different all together but I'm still keen to see what the hemi a-bods used.

Heater delete air boxes? Seen em?

Hi all, I'm going to remove the heater from my 75 duster and wondered if theres a heater delete air box to fill the hole left by the heater in the cowl? I have a right side one from a New Zealand valiant, but its not quite the same as the left one on my duster. I have the radio and heater delete...

Cream, light tan or white lock knobs???

Hi Guys has anyone seen door lock pull knobs, in these lighter colors? I'm sure I've seen cream ones before, don't remember white ones, I'm looking for white or light tan, I haven't settled on my final interior color yet, but it will be light tan or white depending on what upper door panels I...

Anyone swapped a fold down seat out?

Thanks for reply, I'm just not a fan of the folding rear, yet every duster I've looked at that seams a nice buy, has that option, it's strange, I'm going to just keep looking, seems like too much work.

Anyone swapped a fold down seat out?

Hi all, how hard would it be to convert a space duster style rear seat to a regular one, that includes the rear dash and pinion snubber floor braces. Anyone ever done that? A bit of welding I'm sure.

    '67 dash pads?

The 67 dash goes down a little lower on the sides of the dash, not normally a problem unless your dash has trim that lines up with the bottom of the sides of the pad. Hope that make sense. :)

    Modern Seat Belts?

I just did the same thing a little while back, got a set of seat belts some one bought from The Truck Stop in California, for a chevelle, they didn't fit them for some reason. Any way they only took a few minutes to fit, and hopefully will stop all those complaining passengers.

Any pic's of c14 rear shoulder belts in any 69-71 mopar?

Damn no photos, but the only other car I've heard of with the belts was also an e-body, a 70 cuda AAR if I remember rightly.

Any pic's of c14 rear shoulder belts in any 69-71 mopar?

Anyone got any pictures of the c14 shoulder belt option in any muscle era mopar? Doesn't have to be an a-body. I've never seen them ever, and would like to know how the set up looks.

Who's stuck a rear defogger in their A-body?

Looks like that could do the trick, aslong as I can install one in a tidy manner, the rear window is out of the car, so I should be able to do a nice factory looking job.

Who's stuck a rear defogger in their A-body?

Thanks, great info, I saw there's a swinger rear window on ebay with the element, wants $500, OUCH! I think the blower option won't be much use during our cold foggy winters. I usually park the car so I don't have to back on the street in the morning anyway. :)

Who's stuck a rear defogger in their A-body?

Think of making my car abit more user friendly during winter. A rear defroster sure would help sometimes in this foggey place I live. I have a few questions though. Firstly the only dart rear windows I've seen with factory defogger elements, have been damn pricey, but has anyone put a rear...

    Console inlay colors besides woodgrain.

Got the black vinyl decal in the mail the other day, super quick service, seeing he cut it out specially in the plain black, and shipped here to New Zealand for cheaper than the ebay price. Hope the close up shows the grain. And Scamper I have been looking for one of those black knobs, but no...

    Console inlay colors besides woodgrain.

There are black factory knobs, I know alot of the Ozzie cars had them, I will look and see if I still have one, I'm using a promatic, with a chrome ball with my console.

Finally here's a picture of the grainy vinyl. Looks like the same grain as my sunvisors, so I think thats the best option for me, and should be a good one for you too scamper.
