I don't think you'll be able to fit an 8" wheel in the confined space of an early A body wheelwell. With the spriings moved inboard, and the wells mini tubbed you could fit them.

You should be able to run at least a 225-60-14 tire on that rim. Best to do some work with the measuring tape first though. See how much distance you have to the wheelwell lip and to the rear springs - when your tires are properly inflated. Then go on line to some place like Tire Rack and check...

The combination of wheels and tires looks really good Beatnik. Very sharp looking car. If you want to fill the front wheelwells with a little more tire, lower the front a little with the torsion bars.

I always liked the small front, large rear look on my A bodies also. Those 15 x 8" with the 4.5" BS must be just about filling up those stock rear wheelwells. I don't think you can go much bigger without moving the springs and maybe doing some mini-tubs - depending on the size of your tires of...

I think those rims may be a little too large for the front of your car. What width and wheel backspacing do you have on the front now? With that info, you should be able to take some measurements and determine if they'll hit on the body or suspension components. Or, if your current rear's are...

I don't know the answer to your question, but I'll give you a bump to the front again. Cerwin has 17" rims on his 66 Valiant, but I'm not sure of the width, backspacing, or tire size. OH, CERWIN - WHERE ARE YOU?? :)

triggerjay, I don't believe Cragar SS wheels are available any more in the 5 x 4" small bolt pattern. Seems to me that they stopped production on these about 3 or 4 months ago. You may find a set in someone's stock, but not from Cragar any more.

If memory serves me correctly, demon seed had a post about a month ago advising that Cragar had stopped making the SS wheels for the 5 x 4" small bolt pattern. That narrows the choices down even further.
