As you can see from the 2nd pic...shimming the pedestals will push the rocker tip further off the valve - so shims may only be a 'fix' for Hughes rockers.

Especially if you have the 360 heads and the crank and a 318 block fully cleaned and prepped.

In my experience the piston skirt cleared fine. No issues. We used a forged TRW. 1.72 CH slug shaved 100th Our issue was P -V clearance.

Ramm - I ran a 318/349 using cut down 1.72 CH slugs a few years ago....and ran into p-v issues, even with .100th off the top of the slugs. Did you measure your p-v clearance? Reason I ask is I suspect a lot of my issue was my shaved teen heads that I used......

I'd guess from previous experience that the EBay advert is probably a typo - a cut and paste error from some other advert they are running. You could always use the "ask a question" feature to be sure and find out. FWIW I'd be more worried about the quality and figment for that price - my 2c

The issue from what I understand is this... Generally they're rated to around 6500 peak rpm.?..maybe a little less. I've heard of at least one case where they've collapsed at under 6000 after engine Dyno tuning time. Basically the lifter can,t cope with the recommended spring pressures at the...

Anyone on the forum regularly racing on retro-fit Hydraulic Roller lifters? I've heard a couple of horror stories about their life span in applications that regularly see 6000+ RPM use. Any stories to tell about the actual survival of the lifters themselves?

Can't help on the gaskets because I don't know what heads you are referring to. Stroker kits are offered by Mancini, Hughes, Speed-o-motive...just use Google, thats how I know these things. MRL Perfomance who is a member on this web site offers a pretty cool stroker kit as well.

I need to know why if thats OK ? This is a learning exercise for me - is it that the torque is better through that range?
