    One for our Canadian friends

The track use to be called Cayuga Motor Speedway which is the name of the town the track is located in. Anyone know why they changed the name?

    Which intake?

My vote is for the Indy. I was considering running a set of W5’s. I was working with Ryan at Shady Dell. He preferred the Indy versus the large port M1 based on his experience with these two manifolds.

    W5 heads

The W3 if I recall correctly was a big block head with W2 style ports. Experimental only from what I have read. Looking forward to seeing the results of the W5’s. Great looking setup and attention to detail.

Well my race season may be over

That is unfortunate John. Hopefully a long trickle charge will bring the battery back to life. Rest up and get your new set of heads on the engine for next year.

Some days it doesn’t pay to get outta bed

Hopefully you did not lose any of the needle bearings when that broke. You may want to keep a couple spares handy just in case to save your day/weekend at the race track.

Nothing like some much needed maintenance

I was going to say the exact same thing. John you are the man!! You put me to shame.

    Building your own headers.

You can try Tubular Automotive in Mass. they have W2 and J head adapter plates they produce for the one header they make for A bodies. I have also seen adapters for W2 heads on eBay.

    Building your own headers.

These pictures show a W2 gasket placed on a Trick Flow small block head. Very close fit. This will not impact performance. You could also do a little grinding on the adapter to get it closer if desired. This gives you an idea of how the W2 adapter plates will fit the Trick Flow heads if you...

    Sfi flywheel shield doesn’t fit

My experience may be with a different part/setup but I will share it. I installed a 727 SFI trans shield and to make it fit in my abody I had to bang the trans tunnel a little and cut a piece out one of one side of the top section where it bolted to the steel plate that connects the top and...

    W2 Heads

To convert to pushrod oiling you would need lifters that pushrod oil, hollow pushrods, Rocker arm system that uses pushrod oiling like Jessel or T&D, mill the head pedestals to accept new rocker system and block the oil to the heads with a different gasket or install a threaded insert into the...

Rear End Set-up on 72 Dart

Super Stock Spring selection from Mopar. As someone mentioned odd numbers on left in most cases.

Rear End Set-up on 72 Dart

Visually the right side spring will have more individual spring segments, some of which are small and biased to the front of the spring. Mopar Performance suspension book recommended their long shocks for more rear rise and about an inch of space between the snubber and the floor with the car...

    360-1 on 48 deg. block

Yes you will likely need to clearance the heads for pushrods when using a 48 degree block due to the lifters being angled differently. The lifter spacing side to side I believe is also different on the 48 degree blocks so watch for side to side clearance as well. Pictures below shows a W2 48...
