I would send it to strange or moser rather than buy new. I found a Dana 60 housing on craigslist for $20, It came out of an old truck, and I took it to strange and had it narrowed to 50 inches, hot tanked, and new flanges welded on and it cost me $300. Very pleased with the work and the price...

Definately Strange, had them narrow my D60 and their customer service is second to none. Also been around alot longer.

I'll get some pics up tommorrow but I thought you could I.D. the rear end by stampings but what do I know this is my first Dana 60

Anyone know how to identify a dana 60 rear end. Just wondered what this thing came out of. I just picked it up off craigslist for $20 and plan to narrow it and put it in my 65 Cuda after a rebuild.

Sorry guys I just got back in town from visiting my parents and brother out in Iowa. Thanks for the info I think I'll get the a-body 8-3/4 rear end and have it cut down to 50 inches. New strange axles, 489 third member sure grip with 410 gears. Do you guys think that will fit ok ?

Can anyone tell me what the width of the rear end should be. I am going to mini tub the car all the way to the frame rails and just wondering if anyone else has done this and how much i need to cut down the rear end housing?
