If any one is still interested in this fix I figured it out for my car at least. I have a 73 Duster w/power steering, I have an older manual steering box to put in it. I ordered a 73 manual steering pitman arm. It is shaped just like the powersteering arm, but has the smaller hole for a manual...

Curious to know if you ever found a solution? I have a pre 73 manual box also with a 73 car, and the output shaft of the 73 powersteering box is larger in diameter than the manual box so the pitman arms will NOT interchange.

I have a set off of my duster. They have new bushings and ball joints in them. I installed the new joints and bushings and couldn't allign it because there wasn't enough positive camber with the amount of rake the car has. I went with tubular a arms instead. I'm at work so I can't research...

So are you getting vdarts? I had my son check today and the dipstick and tube is there and I can pull it and ship it tomorrow if no other arrangements were made.

If his is ready to ship then go for it. I work long days and won't be able to get to it until Saturday if its there. I'll be home around 6 pm pacific time tonight.

I am in the middle of converting my 73 to manual steering. I have a buddy that did the same on his scamp and said there is a way to bust out the nylon nipples in the column which will lengthen the column enough to use with the manual box. Basically I guess this eliminates the small crush zone...
