Bigger K Member for BB Swap?

Putting together a little parts list to finally get started on my 66 Valiant project and after reading a ton of posts in various forums it seems like the debate still rages on. Do I need to swap K-members if I am putting a BB into my Valiant or will some Schumacher BB spool mounts work just...

    Gaaahhhh I just can't decide 383 or 440. I can't find any 400 blocks around here or that I can afford, only 383s and 440s. Show of hands.......383?.........or 440?.............

But would 550+ hp be easily achievable without hurting parts with a 383

383 Into Stock Slant Six K Member?

See I've had different people say go with 440 or go with 400 or 383 haha. It's such a hard choice because I'd love to have tons of hp now but I know my budget won't allow it so I just want to get as much horsepower for as little of money as possible.

383 Into Stock Slant Six K Member?

Custom headers aren't bad, just time-consuming. I still haven't completely decided if I want to go 440 or 383 though.

I'm hoping to get at least 550 hp out of it. I just found an article in an old Mopar Magazine that gives parts and everything that they got 560 hp out of an old 383 so maybe that'll help

383 Into Stock Slant Six K Member?

I'm planning on buying a 383 to replace the slant six my 66 Valiant came with. Will the stock K member be able to hold the weight of the 383 with replacement motor mounts or should I try and find a big block k member to replace it with?

    Valiant Drag Car ?'s

Sorry the only ones I have are the ones I took when I went to go look at it for the first time. I have some ones of it in progress now on my camera but haven't had a chance to get them on a computer yet. It looks rough but believe me the metal on the car is in ridiculously good shape for sitting...

    Valiant Drag Car ?'s

By the way 66340SEDAN, like the car! I'll try and get pictures of mine up here. I got the fenders off and am working on getting the 225 out so it can get sand blasted. It was a pasture car but I was really surprised when I went to look at it that the subframe looks great and the factory paint...

    Valiant Drag Car ?'s

So what about a 440? Do you think if I bored it over and had it stroked, with some polished and ported heads do you think I could run in the 9s?

    Valiant Drag Car ?'s

Its a 1966 100 so do you still think I should go sb? I would really like to run a 440 but like you said I would have to custom make headers, which really wouldn't be a problem because I have all the stuff needed to do that, it would just be another thing that would have to be done.

    Valiant Drag Car ?'s

I'm trying to put together a plan for a 66 or 67 Valiant drag car. I'm trying to decide on what engine displacement I should go with. I would like to run Super Gas (money allowing), but would settle for something slower. Whatever the class, I would like to run in the low 10s to mid 9s. Should I...
