I had the same experience as you in my dart it would also say I was doing 110 when I was doing 65.... I took out the dash unplugged the cable from the speedometer and lubed it with graphite and a lot of it. that cleared that problem right up.

I tried to find a picture with the location of where it is supposed to be. I also tried to find a diagram of the pacing between the marks so I can try to make one and get it as close as I can.

My distributor failed and now I gotta redo the timing because I'm way off. I noticed I don't have a timing mark anywhere.... I've tried finding tdc on the first cylinder and I failed miserably. Is there something that i'm doing wrong?? I took out the spark plug and I thought I had it on tdc but...

It was the distributor. I couldn't find my tester and I had a lifetime warranty on it so I just replaced it and it started right up. I also checked the spark and it is a thing of beauty.

Yeah I pulled it a few days ago when I thought my timing was off. The guy we got the car from some how broke the timing marks off... And the box is 5 pin. I'll check the drive gear again just to make sure that isn't the problem. So just to clarify this the resistor goes bad the car will not run...

I also saw a post you put with the all the ohms and voltage reading of everything in the electronic ignition and for the life of me I cant find it again. I wanted to go through and test everything to find the problem.

The coil I'm sorry. I changed the ECU about a year ago and just replaced it right now I cleaned it both sides and cleaned the paint off the metal so it would have a good ground.
