Leaking issues in my 200 4R - any gurus available?

Do you run a sealed dipstick? I started having trouble with pushing fluid out of the seals when I installed one in my car.

ebay kick down and throttle kit...?

I've installed 3 of those kickdown kits. Yes, there is a difference between it and the Lokar kit, but it is priced more accordingly to the materials used. The Lokar kit is overpriced for what you get IMO. To help with the braids unwininding, a trick that I used on the last one was to get a...

    4l60e transplants?

The 2004r is a good option for guys who want an overdrive without much surgery. Even though one can be built to easily handle that kind of power, the big problem is how to handle the transmission TV cable. I ran into this problem when researching a 6.1 hemi transplant in my car and it was one...

    stock converter/race converter

Smaller converters are more efficient at higher stall rates. An 8" converter stalled at 5000 can be more crisp and slip less than an 11" converter stalled at only 3000. The 9.5" I have in my car is great, but if I get to the point where I need a stall over 4000 I'll be looking at an 8".

    lockup A999 mods

I installed a Transgo TF2 shift kit in my a999. Not too hard, it was my first time inside a trans if that says anything. I must say one thing though, good luck finding a decent converter over 2500 stall that doesn't cost a fortune. It's one of the reasons everyone says to switch to a non...

    Kickdown cable recommendations?

The shift linkage/cable has nothing to do with the kickdown. Here's the Lokar instructions that come with the kit. If you look you'll see that the cable bracket attaches to a existing bolt in the rear of the trans case and wraps around...

    Kickdown cable recommendations?

I ran a Lokar setup with my 904 and then again when I got my 2004r. I was just looking for the "easy" option, but to be honest I wasn't overly impressed with either for the price. I'm not fond at all with the plastic piece they use to attach the cable to the carb linkage. So cheap for a $70...

changing gear ratio from 3.23 to ? Street & Strip Experiences?

For the type of driving you want to do, 3.55's would be the logical choice. It would be the best compromise between dragstrip and autobahn driving. If you went with the 3.91's you risk making first gear useless due to much higher torque multiplication. First gear would be very short (3.25)...

    Trans cooler question.

It's not that much pressure, the fluid is just going through the cooler and then dumping back into the pan. The only real restriction is the lines and cooler itself.

    Torque converter help.

If you're running a 727 behind that 340, you don't need an aftermarket flexplate for what you're wanting to do. An aftermarket converter will bolt right up. I would recommend picking up some ARP torque converter bolts while you're at it though. From experience, it's not THAT much more...

3.91 gears for shorter 60 mph trips

When looking at gear calculators keep torque converter slip in mind, it could take more rpms to reach a certain speed than what the chart says. Unless you do a lot of racing, an alternative would be to go for a more highway friendly gear, such as 3.55, and then run a shorter tire (24") at the...

    Torque Converters

X2 Also, don't be afraid of a higher stall. Just because a converter is rated to flash at 3000 doesn't mean the motor will have to rev to 3000 to move the car. A 2400 stall will work great (minimum stall for an upgrade imo) for a stock-ish build and it would drive just like stock, until you...

    Tranny Recommendations for 600 HP

You're looking at ~$2000 minimum for a 2004r to fit your application, plus the costs to install it. Roughly $4k. You could do a 904, they can be built it nice, or you could just build the 727. I don't think you could go wrong with either one if you go about it right.

    200R4 update

I'm using the Wilcap kit with my 5.9 magnum / 2004r combo. Very very nice kit. I had to provide a stock flex plate for the balance, but they should have that info on file now. The kit is 100% bolt-on. The only modifcation needed is to grind/file the tip of the starter to clear the bell...

which torque converter is compatible with Magnum crate engine?

Nobody makes a 5.9 Magnum to 904 flexplate any more. Unless you're lucky enough to find a used one, you only have two options. The first is the use the stock Magnum flexplate like mentioned above, or buy a converter designed for the conversion. To my knowledge, SMR Transmissions up in Canada...

318 converter and bolts with 5.9 magnum flexplate

I know what you're talking about, and I ran mine like that up until I decided to swap transmissions. I just used red loctite on all the bolts and checked them frequently for the first couple thousand miles, but they never budged. I'd say you're good, but you might want to keep an eye on them...

    lokar kick down

Has anybody else had the plastic piece that attaches to the carb break? I don't know if I had it adjusted too tightly or what but out of the whole kit that's the only part that I would call "cheap". I wound up upgrading to the piece you see everyone using on their throttle cable. One thing I...
