Custom rear spoiler for the Missile

from the angles I can see.. It doesn't look like you will get much aero benefit at all unless you seal the bottom or change the angle so it just tips the back and makes a spoiler rather than a wing out of it. Or, you could make it stand up slightly more, and use it as an airbrake, Mercedes Slr...

yeah I would wetsand w/1500 and then clear it. What is it? just something in the paint? if it is noticeable you might want to reshoot that panel after you sand it.

What is the difference between Duster bodies

I am pretty sure they are the same all the way through.. I have no proof other than looking at different years. But it does make sense to not change the expensive tooling on stuff.

Are 74 Dart fenders year specific?

To add to my previous post.. It helps if you don't care about year correct things like marker lights.. But since he wanted to change the hood and grille I assumed you didn't care.

Are 74 Dart fenders year specific?

For the duster swap all you would have to do is the grille hood and bumpers... For the older darts I don't know but I am pretty sure they are the same. And the 73+ dusters were the same front as the darts... Ugly. haha

    Boring paint- ideas please

My opinion! Do a side stripe like the blue one above.. Black out the grille and tail panel, and do black steelies. Masking tape + spraypaint = AWESOME and CHEAP!

    $2 "vinyl" top

Thanks! I just want it to look a little better and not rust while I drive it. Sharps chapel is north of Knoxville. It is VERY very small. That would work... But I really don't like vinyl tops. I just didn't want it to rust where it was bare metal. And I figured white would be better than...

    $2 "vinyl" top

The overspray is dry. Dusted right off... And it is only for the short term... Hadn't thought about the road grime... I'll have to think about that.

    $2 "vinyl" top

My Duster Had a vinyl top that was mostly rotted off... So I took it off the rest of the way. But under the top looked bad. So I sanded it down and masked it off... And with 2 $0.98 cans of flat white spray paint I now have a presentable car! Let me know what you think! And I'll post more...

    fiberglass savings

Well if the fiberglass fenders are cheaper than the regular ones and you need new ones anyway than I would say go fiberglass.
  23. bjkadron

    fiberglass savings

Are you racing it? That would be where the main concern with weight would be... A-bodies are pretty light cars... Only 3000-3200 usually fully dressed. That's lighter than a new midsized Honda. The main things you want to ask yourself is why you want to lose weight, and how much is it worth to...

    fiberglass savings

Well... When you ask if it is worth losing structural integrity it sounds as if your meaning in the chassis. The fenders Are not a part of the structure of the car and are therefore not stressed members. So are you talking about the structural integrity of the fenders to resist damage?

    painting fiberglass bumpers?

Eastwood has a product similar to that alsa "killer chrome". I've never used it but their products are really nice. I've used some of their other stuff and it was good quality for a fair price.

    painting fiberglass bumpers?

You could do them with a cast aluminum look. that would be cool. I'm thinking about doing this to my steel ones for now cause they look pretty bad.

    anybody seen this done?

Well Yeah.. That does look nice.. What editing program do you use? I'm trying to make the move to computer aided renderings to compliment my hand drawn ones.

    anybody seen this done?

Sorry about using your picture Zach. I didn't think you would mind. And I only used the original not the one you added the stripes to. Didn't mean to offend. I thought it looked a little awkward too.. But I think the flat hood looks best. So I thought someone else might like it. just putting...

Cutting hole in the hood question...

HAHA! I think he wanted it to look nice! But Anyways.. Measure three times.. them measure again!!! Then cut.. No.. you cant use an angle grinder without a specific cutoff wheel. I'd suggest a jig saw so you don't mess up the paint around it. and if your going to drive in the rain.. Don't risk...
