    Wrinkle Finish Prep

My buddy used to build rifles, he painted quite a few with wrinkle paint. He said the trick to get a good wrinkle was to preheat the stock. He had a bbq rotisserie set up to hold the stock in front of a heater. Then wrinkle painted and kept in front of the heater. I dont know if you need to...

I was doing something similar in my dart(/6), had the gas all the way down. Started to knock. I limp home, after jacking up the engine, pulling the oil pan and all the rod caps and mains to check the bearings, I find out it was a couple of loose bolts on the torque convertor. I will alway check...

Anybody notice this when driving your Mopar?

That is one reason I love to drive my car,72 dart. I get alot of guys that want to race. Unfortunatly its not as fast as it looks. Lots of people tell me " I had one just like that ". I never want to say that. I used to own a dodge stratus, no one ever pulled up and said "nice stratus". Plus I...

    mopar haters

This story is on a lighter note. I was in a gunsmithing college in northern California in the early 90's, the gunsmithing intstructor was a great guy, he even had a hell of a sense of humor, we would all at one point have guns completly taken apart on our work benches, he would walk by and throw...

New rear leafs and Rims today.

My car has the 1/2" bolts in the front eye of the leaf. The new leafs have a 5/8"bolt hole. I live in Vancouver B.C., population around 2 million people. This place shuts down at 6:00. This is just like a small town, I doubt I will be able to get the proper bolt until Monday.

Are you sure you want to buy a project car? The cost of the car and then add to that, the cost of repairs, add to that the cost of stuff you forgot to add to the cost of the repairs. Do you have the time and place to work on this? Not trying to persuade you either way, just stuff you need to...

Will mustang, bronco, ranger 8.8 fit?

Do you have drums or disc on the front? Would there be a problem with the rear wheels locking up due to more stopping power than the front possibly?( if you had drums on the front) I have drums on my conversion so I dont have an idea how discs would act. If it doesnt matter then I would go disc...

    Ford 9" or 8.8"

with the 8.8 rear, you use two passenger side axles. they are a 5 on 4.5 pattern. with the explorer rear the driver side axle is 3" longer than the passenger side axle. Shorten the driver side axle tube 3" and the extra passenger axle ( picked it up when i got the rear from the jy) slides right...

    Ford 9" or 8.8"

I went the ford 8.8 route. Im in canada and there are no junk yards with older vehicles here (where I am at). A 8 3/4 would be waaaay too much. I picked up the rear out of a 91 explorer with an extra passenger axle for 115$ cdn. I paid 165$ to have the drivers side shortened 3" and spring...
