    early A dash pad replacement

I bought and returned one of those dash caps, didn’t fit well at all. I sent my pad to Dash Specialists in Oregon. They were a little pricey, but less expensive than Just Dashes. I also sent them a color sample used to paint my dash, and they matched it damn close. I could not be happier...

Aftermarket Steering Wheel for 66 Barracuda with stock column?

I, too, use a Grant wheel. I had similar issues like 66Jim described. I made a spacer to lift the wheel away from the horn contact so the horn didn’t go off by itself when I would turn left or right.

sound deadener under rear seat bottom and back

I considered it but passed after I gave the panel a thump. It’s solid and doesn’t reverberate like the floor panels do. I figure i’ll cover everywhere else. Just my two cents.

    Metal kick panels

Rustyfish: I wasn’t able to post a pic on a private message to you. I took this one. The bottom edge of my left kick panel is a little rough. But when you lay the right side over it, the shape looks to be the same. I traced both for you, will drop in the mail to you tomorrow.

I have mine off now from my ‘66 Fish. Will they work? I can trace it on newspaper and mail it to you if they will work. Don’t know exactly what car you have.

    OLd Grant steering wheel

Nice score. I bought a new Grant from Summit. When it came in, I was sad, it looked no way as nice as the old school Grant wheel like you got, the new one looked cheesy and cheap. I returned it. Your wheel is way better, nice job!

    66 Valiant kick panels,...really??

You could probably use some vinyl door edge trim if you want to be closer to an authentic look. Just peel the tape off and stick it on. A whole lot easier than sewing something.

    front seat.. help me decide

My two cents... Pro car seats if you're going the restomod route. Bench if you're trying for a period correct look. Tie the interior together with the exterior, color and style.

    Carpet color?

Yup. I was looking for a green shade, had the maker send me samples. It came in a U.S. mail envelope. I was able to match to the interior and select a compatible carpet. Don't just guess, you may be sorry!

    another dash pad topic :(

I got a dash top from Dante's, haven't painted it or put it on yet. It fits well and has a nice grain texture. And the price was right, I think about $60. Just Dashes would have been my first choice, but price and wait time killed it for me.

Location of Fuse Block in Barracuda/Valiant

My '64 was screwed in under the dash, did not hang, near the ashtray. My '66 is on the left end of the dash. Methinks yours is in the middle near the ashtray.

    Removing Dashtop - '66 Barracuda

B-I-N-G-O !! You're right! I was mistakenly looking at the dashboard mounting bolts, in which Zhandful is correct, the windshield would need to be removed to pull the whole dashboard. But I curled my neck deep enough under the dash to see the five or six palnuts holding the dash pad to the...

    Removing Dashtop - '66 Barracuda

I speak of the soft dash pad. I've attached an image. The moulding at the top of the windshield covers the tops of the screws that secure the dash pad. I don't know if I can just peel the moulding away, or if I have to pull the windshield out first.

    Removing Dashtop - '66 Barracuda

I can see five or six screws under the dashboard securing the dashtop. But the tops of the screws must be hidden under the molding on top of the dash which is pressed against the windshield. Has anyone tried removing the molding, will it distort, is it reuseable? Does the windshield need to...
