Help with finding some info I couldn't find with search. Dakota conical washers

I read about someone had used these special washers to center bolts on QA-1 K frame. I have this and the supplied washers are flat and bolts are not centered in mounts. Somebody remembers, I hope.

    Bilstein rear shock information

I had this same problem with the Bilstein's. I ordered them from P-S-T, and they worked with me and sent me the correct bushings. The top bushing was too small in diameter. Good luck!

Well guys it took some time, but Dan at PST sent me the correct bushings for the shocks. Once I removed the incorrect bushings, pressed the correct ones in, it went together very easy!

Question abt my new Bilstein dampers. (shocks)

Yeah, I'm NOT going to drill bushings! I'm sure I will get to bottom of this, just can't work on that part this weekend. Dano, I agree they may be the wrong bushings or they may be mislabeled. I have switched back to finishing front end.

Question abt my new Bilstein dampers. (shocks)

No, they look brand new as a matter of fact after I used crocus cloth on them. The bushing hole is just too small. Every shock I have ever bought for a 67 up A body had the bushings the same size top and bottom.

Question abt my new Bilstein dampers. (shocks)

Yes Dano, the posts look like new after I took crocus cloth to them. No mushrooming or anything like that. rear of car is up in air, 8 3/4 is hanging down to the extent springs will let it.I have room, to swing rubber hammer, but I couldn't budge it.

Question abt my new Bilstein dampers. (shocks)

Well guys I tried all the above advice except for the hot water part. Still no go. With almost a tenth of an inch difference in bushing hole, it just wont go on. At least for me. The lower bushing on the shock fits just fine on the upper stud. I know some of you said they look right, but you...

Question abt my new Bilstein dampers. (shocks)

I recently bought a set of 4 Bilstein's for my 67 Barracuda. The front ones are installed, but when I went to put the rears on, they wouldn't fit. The bushing in the upper eye is too small in diameter by abt ".075 The bushing is not rubber, I tried with some vasalene to force it on but that...

Here's what Energy Suspension says about their dust boots

I bought P-S-T's 1.03" tbars and there premium seals. I couldn't get them on no matter what I tried. A friend and his Big wife came by to see car. I told them the problem I was having, she said let me try. The seal was put on shop floor large side up, tbar hex was put into place. She then took a...

    8 3/4 anyone?!

I purchased a 8 3/4 rear from a 65 Dodge coronet at my local Pull a part. It was under 100 dollars. I then had a machine shop install new bearings and seals, rh studs on drivers side, all for under 200 dollars. So I had about 300 in it, then it needed new spring mounts moved in 1/2 inch on...

This is indeed the correct way to do the job! Sockets aren't very expensive, 1/2 in impact is the right tool! I don't want heat anywhere near my suspension components.

    Torsion Bars

If you had the tool specified in the first post, you would be able to hammer it out. I would imagen a pipe wrench and a hammer will really leave marks and scratches on torsion bar which then MUST be removed or bar may break! That tool may still be available somewhere, but on another thread...
