    TTi Headers

I think it's easier to use studs than bolts because you can remove/install the headers without having to drain coolant since the two bolts on the end go to water passages.

    500 cubes

I do have some relatives down there so if I'm there with a way to bring it back I'll let you know!

    500 cubes

Can't weld yet but I'll probably pick up some experience with it this spring. I would love to be able to weld up my own exhaust, or at least know enough to tack the headers in place and take them somewhere for finishing.

    500 cubes

If I can find an 8 3/4 in a junkyard somewhere would that work, and replace the guts with limited slip?

    500 cubes

Thanks guys, just checked the rear end and its a 7.25. Too bad I'd have to replace it, it's one of the only things on the car that doesn't leak! It's going to be a long time before I can go to the big block I think. In the meantime, is it worth going limited-slip in a 7.25?

    500 cubes

Thanks 68, so it sounds like it's in the 8-10k range. Looks like I'll be saving up at least one more summer for this one. I'll be sure and start a build thread when it gets going! I'm hoping I'll be able to get it done over a summer, but we'll see how that goes.

    500 cubes

How much does it cost to get a 500 c.i. engine in a 73 Duster? Right now it's a 360, basically no exhaust, not sure what the rear end is, 904 tranny that I'd assume I'd want to replace. I know there's probably not a way to say you want a 500 c.i. street car, but that's the idea, low compression...

    The Ultimate 440 Thread

That's what I'm talking about! I don't know what I want to do at all with the engine yet but I want to know what's been done and what people like or don't like about what they've done.

    The Ultimate 440 Thread

Sounds right on Jim. I wouldn't build a car that I couldn't cruise in.

    The Ultimate 440 Thread

Let's get one thing out in the open: I have a life goal of building a 440 and putting it in something. I'm talking a mean 440, maybe so mean that it's a stroker and not even a 440 anymore. Could end up as anything, as long as it's at least close to street-able I want to start with a junkyard...

    Help inspire a young lad!

Sounds good, thanks everyone, I will be back when I find my next car. I'd like to get a roller and build from the ground up, but need to find some space and some cash!

    Help inspire a young lad!

It's got a pretty decent 360 in there now. So maybe I should be thinking about getting this one running well for now, and save up to do a big block the way I want it on a different body later on. It's really not about performance too much, I just love big blocks, and with lots of cubes you can...

    Help inspire a young lad!

This is a few years early, but I can't resist thinking about my eventual plans for a big-block in my Duster! I'll be saving up over the next few years (possibly for all 4 years of college depending on what I can find for work in the summer). Anyways, I was just wondering what kind of setup you...
