Thank you, bucket list thing.....I ordered the Indy block from Ray Barton Christmas week of 2016, got it end of March 2017. I highly recommend using Ray, same price, nice guy, very helpful.Probably 1st of June to run it. Too cold here for alky, and our track sucks. Chassis Dyno next week if the...

    440 A body header options

I ran a mid plate with my TTI's, had to pull the tranny to change starter. But luckily I never had to do that. I am with you, I would have paid someone to do it! Otherr then that, they were awesome headers.

    440 A body header options

What exactly are we looking at in your blue car picture dusterdrag? Are those MP heads? They look to have straight rather than angled plugs and what size tubes on the tti's? Did you just need a dent in the tube for the coupler? Thanks for sharing your experience here. Your welcome. We are...

Agree^^^^ The blue car was mine.....Didn't have any issues with the box at all, just at the coupler which was close, but an easy fix..

    440 A body header options

Just wrap the wires with some header wrap making boots, or buy some boots to protect them (see my picture of the boots on passenger side). If you take your time with fitment, you won't have any issues., never had a plug wire burn, was running 8mm Morso wires. if the headers were hitting stuff...

Yes, coated TTI's. Yes, I drilled a access hole for # 4 #6 plug which made it super easy to change plugs. I would buy them again.

    cast crank converter question

I built a motor like that, called it "Frankenstien"...You know, parts from different motors.

    cast crank converter question

Yup, this is correct. My 73 340 is a externally balanced crank and balancer, but has internally balanced flywheel and clucth. The machine shop balanced it this way for me. I can just never switch any of it, because it was all balanced together. It also runs smooth.

    Final thoughts

TTI's fit awesome, close to everything, don't touch anything. The trick is to have your motor in perfect location to their specs (factory) some say they have to bang them in, but I didn't on a 69 Valiant, I even ran a mid-plate......I run 700+ HP on stock crank/caps, no girdle, no issues.

    Headers?

I ran the TTI's on my 69 Valiant Drag car, loved them. Fit perfect. Didn't dent in for anything.BB manual steering, floor shift. If your mounts are correct they hit nothing, no denting in. I also made holes in pass wheel well to get to plugs. They were close to everything, but didn't hit...

Yes, I ran the Hughes heavier push rods. I bent a couple of hughes standard ones after 5 passes, messed up a rocker. pitched a lifter out of the bore, lost oil pressure at the finish line. Ordered their heavier 5/16th funny car push rods, pulled the heads, enlargered the push rod holes, and never...

Why not run the Crane steel ones, like he said, they are bulit proof? I ran Hughes aluminum 1.6 rockers with my 620 Ultradyne solid cam (yes, had to cut larger pushrod holes, no shims on shafts), 1000+ passes, no issues, so I don't know why there would be an issue on the street. They are all...

Per Titanium retains: My first build I used Titanium retainers, and broke one after about 30 passes. I caught it just as I was shuting off the engine in the staging lanes. It blew the center out. It dropped the valve, but not enough to hurt it, so I pulled the intake cleaned everything up,flushed...

Yes, on most the budget after market heads, Pro comp ect. the springs and retainers are junk. He is right, buy good quality springs and the Comp. retains and locks. You should be able to buy the heads bare also. Every engine freshening (drag car), I just go a head and replace the retainers &...

    Pushrod clearance problems

Just a little hole, but we both took deep cuts.Like I said, we ovaled them.I was just telling this to you, so if you cut into runner, you won't panic. It's no big deal. We did mine first, and had no problems.

    Pushrod clearance problems

For sure open then up, I had this happen with my Bulldog heads (Hughes heads) and bent 2 push rods, which caused the lifters to come out. It also wiped out 2 rockers. Worst of all, I lost the race. We jigged mine up, and longated them. My buddy did his, and burned through the intake runner...

    fenderwell headers

TTI, Only way to go.Of coarse I realize you want the fender wheel look. I had fender wheel Hookers, all they did was get caught on the ground and get bent, and rub on the tires (even 22" tires). The TTI's were hard mounting them with mid motor plate. I just cut the plate in two.I have to pull...
