    roll cage

Sounds like you already have some help in that area. Great. Off road guys trucks take some very severe punishment!! Keep in mind that for the most part, they use .120 wall tubing on their builds. This tubing, going into bends, may lean out on the outside radius enough to not pass NHRA minimum...

    roll cage

I've never installed Autoweld components, but I'd like to, as I've been told through other fabricators, that they have excellent products! With respect, I must disagree about having a custom cage made. There are times when it is deemed necessary, but safer? I guess that all depends on the...

    Home made spring shackles

I've never had luck, re-arching springs. But I've had great luck adding an axtra leaf or two!! Hit the local wrecking yard, and buy an old set. Or, even one side. Blow them apart, cut two about the same length on a cut-off saw, smooth in the corners, and you are set. Here is a picture of what I...

    Adjusting "stance"

Try to not laugh at this one. I'd not believed it had I not been asked to try and figure out what the problem was: Had an issue with a car that came into my shop. Sat crooked, but nothing was changed, save for a rear end swap. After screwing with it for a bit, I noticed one spring perch had...

    Going for a record...

There are mini-tubs, and then there are maxi-tubs. here was a five inch I did a bit ago with a Mustang. Well, A customer just gave me a '68 Dart, and wants a 7 1/2" maxi-tub!!!! Now- thats a bit of a stretch....:-D

    Spring Relocation

I always wondered who was making the kits? I go through about one a month, and the last ones were like someone just decided to turn off the sheilding gas on the welds.... Hmmn....

    Mancini Xhd A-body Springs

Trial and error. They say altering the spring packages changes how the car will launch, corner, and ride. I agree with all that.. . . To an extent. Sure, adding a leaf makes for a stiffer ride, but it may help as well with a corning car. Drag wise, a stiffer spring may help with squat off the...

    Mancini Xhd A-body Springs

Dave- the stance on your car is GREAT! Did the Mancini springs settle at all?, or did they stay about where they were when you first did the install 20,000 miles back??

    Mancini Xhd A-body Springs

I just pulled my set of SS springs outta the Altered Dart this morning. These are the 456-457's. Genuine MOPAR, but talk about sag. Three inches and still going. We drove out to Glendora Dodge, and picked up two 002's, not one 002 and one003. When we set these springs up on the first Rampage...

    Calvert suspension on the street

You'll know its there. Even with the piece of rubber hose to quiet down, the solid front bushing transmits road noise throughout the car. Not terrible at all though. The extra noise is well worth the feel when you launch the car. Straight and true!

    Any Straight Axle guys here?

You'd have to call MP and find out if they would be compatible with Speedways spindles. I've never gone that route, and my gut tells me they won't work with their set-up. There is a car here in SoCal with a straightaxle set-up in the stock location, a primered Dart we spyed one night at...

    Mini-big tub.

I posted a link in the Western Section with regards to a project that I just completed, and realized it may also help with this section, as some have questions when it comes to mini-tubbing. Alot of you already have knowledge of this procedure, but some may be able to use it. Although it is not...

    Tuning Caltrac Bars

There also is another trick when you set up your Cal-Tracs that will see some street duty. They suggested putting a piece of rubber hose slipped over the bar for contact with the leaf spring. When I ran mine, it eliminated quite a bit of the "clank", with no after effects. A cheap solution from...

    spring relocation kit

Jared-I'm sure you will do a great job. When you weld, be sure to really clean the areas to be welded by wire wheel or grinder. Try and remove ALL paint and or undercoating. If not, weld contamination will make for some new cursing!! I would not use a torch like these guys did for melting away...
