I wonder if the cam could walk far enough to uncover the hole in the cam bearing? I guess it would leak enough pressure even if it moved just a little. Nope. I've only seen those once, odd things and I assume would require the same oiling mods as a roller.

Won't the Dakota manifolds work on both sides? Regardless, why not use the old 318 manifold until you find another suitable manifold? You'll lose some power, but it's not going to hurt anything and it'll get you on the road now.

These are supposed to be 340 heads, but instead of an X or a J there is a U cast into the area between the plugs. Any ideas?
