The rear track I believe is narrower on those cars. They are commonly referred to as "roller skates" around here when they have the narrow wheels on them. Find yourself some wider stock rims, or mags that have a more positive offset, or just install some wider tires and it should look more even...

I'm not sure, it's just a pant leg guard I think. Some springs had larger coils than others, maybe they were more prone to catching wires or something. How hard are you looking for pedals? I have a couple sets I was thinking of selling.

I think it also smoothed out the "bump" felt when the trans shifts gears. Helps to make the car feel more refined. I've never put one back on.

I had a 78 D100 with a 318 and four speed. The trans was that granny low NV3500 or something, HUGE and HEAVY. It was a truck trans.

More likely than not the van 4 speed is actually an OD 833. It looks about the same but isn't nearly as heavy duty. They are worth about $100 to someone that can use it but it won't hold up long behind a 340. I'm not sure why the bellhousings he has won't fit, they should if they are small block...

Yes, this combo should work. The transmission used in the trucks has the shifter mount in the correct place for an a-body.

Is the pinion nut loose?

I've never broken one, but I've also never had one behind anything but a stock /6 with skinny tires or a tired 318.

It will be fine. You are correct, the filter is the same for 727 and 904 transmissions. 1039 was the Fram filter I used on my 904 just two weeks ago and everything is fine. It also works in the OD trans, as I just did that one too.

Not sure about a repro dipstick. I probably have one if you can;t find one local. I have the inspection cover also. I'll see if I can get over to the garage tomorrow and snap a pic if no one else has one by then.

A buddy of mine did the first two mods to the trans in his Ram, plus ran type F and he never had any problems. The trans shifted hard enough to chirp the tires at the right speed, didn't shift too early and really kept the 318 in it's power band. It's not for everyone though, as it gets annoying...

More than a 93 Toyota can produce. Seriously, I think it's plenty strong, it was standard behind the 340 and some 383 cars.

In the Mopar Performance manuals (engine, circle track, etc) they have the template and instructions as to how to do that. I guess you can buy a universal weight kit and use a good drill bit.

OH, make an exception to the fact that most 318 squad cars had a 727 trans.

That's what I thought.

It was a torqueflite 904 or a torqueflite 727. 340 cars were the only smallblocks to get the 727 with the exception of trucks and maybe the later 360 cars.
