Help!!

Doing the trans filter today. Got the thing drained and pan off & cleaned. Have a '71 Dart /6 with a 904 auto. Got the FT1039 Fram filter kit. Looks like it is designed to work with 904 and 727 as two gaskets supplied.

Have verified that it is the correct kit, but here is the issue. The filter is different than that on the car. Same mount, but a bit larger in size. The main issue are the holes in it. I've taken a picture of the two for you. Is it okay to use this filter?

It will be fine. You are correct, the filter is the same for 727 and 904 transmissions. 1039 was the Fram filter I used on my 904 just two weeks ago and everything is fine. It also works in the OD trans, as I just did that one too.

If it were me I wouldn't use it, for that matter I wouldn't have owned it, I don't buy fram products. They are probably the worst filter company out there.
