    Body work and paint price

Just an idea: If you're at a school with a decent technology program, why don't you try posting an ad on a bullentin board for someone with some welding/body work experience. If that doesn't work/help, spend some time researching how to do body some body work. A lot of people don't know how...

    Body Filler, Who Know's?

I sure wish I had an air compressor. I've never used body filler before, all of my previous experience has been in motorcycle fenders and tanks. Everything I've ever done has been almost perfect because I can put the fender or tank on a english wheel or planishing hammer, but I can't put my...

    Body Filler, Who Know's?

Well, from the first link you gave me, it looks like maybe I waited to long to do my sanding. I waited 3 days before I even touched it. I never thought that waiting so long would do any harm. I'm borrowing a buddy's electric orbital sander tomorrow and taking it all off. I'll just start from...

    Body Filler, Who Know's?

I had an area on my car where I welded in a patch panel. I bought some body filler from my local auto parts store, it's "easy" sand body filler, the brand name escapes me, but it's not Bondo. Anyway, I laid out a 4" glob of filler on a piece of steel I had and starting at one end of the...

    What's different between a '69 & '70 Valiant?

From Wikipedia: For 1969, a new one-piece, full-width grille, new tailights and trim were featured. Standard engines were unchanged, although refinements in the Chrysler Clean Air System (formerly Clean Air Package) produced better operating economy from the 6-cylinder engines. Improved brake...

If they're stainless, I'll probably polish them and then scotch-brite them to give them that stainless look.

    Painted Roof. Who has one?

Thanks for all the pictures. My biggest question was about where I was going to start/stop the paint. Do I paint the 'A' pillars the same color as the roof or the body? Now that I have seen all these pictures, I realize the best way to go is paint the 'A' pillars the same color as the roof.

    Weatherstrip for Sedan Windows

I have a seal that works, I put it in the tracks of my 4 door Valiant. It snaps right in place without any adhesive. Works nice too. I got 106' left over and I'm willing to sell it for $2.60 a foot. Let me see if I can find a picture....

    Painted Roof. Who has one?

I am repainting my car and wanted to do the roof a different color than the body. I would like to ask if some of the members here who have painted roofs (not vinyl roofs) could post some pictures of how the trim is done where the roof paint line meets the body paint line. I've seen some...

    Wiper Arm Removal

These arms have not been off in a while!! It look a little chemical help to get them off. I sprayed some lube up in the arm at the spline to give it a little motivation. I used a 90 degree pick on the spring and a pair of channel locks with a rag over the arm to protect it. I little...

    Wiper Arm Removal

I'm preparing to start the body work on my hood and cowl, but can't figure out how to remove my wiper arms. A guy I used to work with gave me a tool that is supposed to do it, but it didn't work. He suggested using a pair of channel locks to gently work them off the stem. Is there any kind...
